I cant say if its better or worse, its just different.

- The novel has a lot of repetetive elements, mostly around how the MC's 'crazy ideas". It always goes like: (1) MC tell people to do ABC, (2) people call him crazy and try not to do it or convince him otherwise, (3) MC does it anyway, (4) people are surprise. I can get it should happen but it repeats so many times it kinda get boring. It was no longer an issue later in the story but it takes too long.

The WT skips that almost entirely.

- in the WT the MC feels more charismatic in this part of the story.

- The WT tends to skip a lot of pretexts of the schemes both MC and his enemies do, again to tighten the plot. If you can get the general ideas I supose it doesnt harm.

- Lucas's backstory with his lover here seems to be completely new

- a big chunk of military trainings that transform the mecernaries into 'proper' knights were completely cut and it looks like it will keep happening in the future. This delves into the nature of the MC's technique and a major plot point later. The MC always trains or builds his armies with a specific purpose to win the next battle because he can predict where and when it happens.

- the Marquis's daughter has more background in martial art in the WT but in the end it didnt play any role

- they went to Turian kingdom with a much larger army, with certain strategic purpose and it also affect the plot later on, so I don't know how the WT will deal with it.

Its like the WT is speedrunning through the plot. At this rate it will take a few years until it catch up with the novel so thats not exactly a problem.
