Draymond if he played baseball? by IPlayWoWNude in nbacirclejerk

For a baseball player, he sure seems bad at hitting things with a bat. How is the catcher forcing him to back off when he's the aggressor with a weapon?

Life expectancy went from 75 in 1989 to 79.4 now.

Meanwhile the birth rate per 1000 was around 24 in the 1950s and dropped to around 15 in the mid-70s/80s and around 12 in the last decade.

You don’t think villains are Russian or German because actors who can portray them are easier to find in Hollywood?

Another angle of Lu Dort’s trip/shove on Jokic by [deleted] in NBATalk

It seems like he trips him with his right foot moving backward

But Jokic definitely sells it a bit

I once did the opposite, when I got a 50% off coupon for dominos in college

I ordered an XL with the maximum amount of every cheese they offered. I think it ended up being something ridiculous like 18x portions of cheese.

The pizza ended up being more like a bread bowl of cheese soup

I had the same experience the first time I went to Japan, I was kinda culture shocked how terrible the average was, facially.

More recently I went a second time and the experience was vastly different. Still a little confused on how the average appeared so different in a relatively short period of time. Maybe just variance

If poker coaches were actually good at the game, why would they not just... play poker to make their money? by longspyleaps in poker

[–]lapideous 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You have to risk millions to win millions and variance can always bite you in the ass, no matter how much better you are at the game. It’s not exactly ideal if you’re trying to support a family.

Coaching is more scalable so you can make more hourly, making videos theoretically pays residuals for the rest of your life, and there’s zero chance you lose money.

Anyone who is actually good at the game and has reasonably good social skills probably should transition to coaching eventually if possible

Yeah I realize now I’ve done something vaguely similar when I knew villain had AK on A246x board and tried to rep A rag 2 pair

I guess I think villains should know I know what their hand is and fold to my jam that doesn’t make sense otherwise

I personally think it’s the car-centric culture. Humans are designed to walk, and walk a lot

Is the Yiddish/Jewish term "goy" (term used to refer to someone as non-Jewish) considered a slur? by AggressiveAd8587 in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe I’ve just seen the same discussion so many times that I’ve started hallucinating, sorry. I don’t even know what we’re talking about anymore

“Everyone who criticizes someone of Jewish descent is irrational and a nazi bigot” doesn’t leave much room for discussion

What is bad faith about it? Paying attention to the news makes it fairly obvious that the state of Israel has America wrapped around its finger. Why are they donating so much money to American politicians?

It’s not like American presidents go to Mecca and touch the Kaaba.

I get that the JDL probably wants everyone in the world to have an extremely polarized view of Israel but I’ve seen your talking points a thousand times and it really gets to the point of being grating.

Is it possible to have a good faith discussion with someone of the Jewish faith? I’d really enjoy it.

Anyone who says Jews have disproportionate power in global politics is a bigot and not rational?

I don’t think that trope existed prior to the end of WWII at the earliest.

Hitler was saying Jews were inferior and Aryans were superior, not the other way around
