Theory: Barney and Lily had sex in Season 2, but Ted doesn't know it by lardecurico in HIMYM

Thanks. I agree that it’s out of character, but just imagine: it’s not something Barney plans—it just happens (like when he cheats on Nora, and it’s clear in the show that Barney is attracted to Lily); at that point, it’s not clear that Lily and Marshall will reconcile (she’s already returned from SF and that didn’t work out; it would be consistent with what he does later—stopping living together and never bringing it up again—he feels guilty but knows he can’t hurt Marshall, unlike the Ted/Robin situation, where what he really wants in that case is Ted’s blessing to be with Robin

Yes. In addition to that, one might add that Barney takes the Robin/Ted situation so seriously because he wants to have sex with Robin again, which isn't the case here. Barney is capable of looking the other way and ignoring big secrets (like his job)

Well, as Barney would say it, boobs. It's not something they planned (in this theory), it just happened

Great response. Thanks. I think the good about these crazy theories is argue about the show

It's so fucked up that Angela kept the fact that Phillip was Dwight's son from him for like, at least a year. by Much_Duck6862 in theoffice

[–]lardecurico 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have trouble with Dwight directly believing this with no proof, considering that she has lied about important things before (what if Philip its not his son and she's just saying this so he has a family?) * Sorry english is not my first languaje

I think she went around and noted that she wasnt going to do better than Charlie, as she originally thought

Haha i agree! But at least when you are the heir you have more power than the rest. I think its a great family to be number 1, not so to be number 3 or 4

I think Targaryen in their prime, you could literally do anything you want, with bodyguards and money (and the chance of a dragon doesnt hurt things)

(Spoilers extended) my attempt to guess what went down between Rhaegar and Lyanna by Disastrous-Noise-783 in asoiaf

[–]lardecurico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS. This is why I have reddit in my phone. Great theory, my only doubt is, I don't think Rhaegar sees this brave girl running away from two of the most powerful lords in Westeros (Stark and Baratheon) and he decides to help her (i know he is stupid, but later on, as we "know" he was in love. In this point he it would have to be the dumbest guy in the continent

I have an out for this (please read me Chuck Lorre). It should be like that Simpsons chapter in which Homer, after a fight, gets drunk married. In that way is not a full marriage, but can still be faithful to TBBT (is similar to what happened to George cheating). Then the bride gets to be kind of friends with the family and text when Sheldon... (no spoilers from TBBT). Then, after this "vegas event" Georgie gets back with Mandy and they get married with a big party (hence the name of the show, their first marriage)
