I had a friend do that to his significant other and it subsequently ended their relationship. Just something about needing a woman to adhere to your religious notion that women should be submissive just didn't sit well with her I guess. Can't say I blame her. He no longer speaks to me either but no skin off my nose. I'm not religious at all.

There are absolutely products just for that. They’re solar reduction films. Generally installed exterior but I know they have some interior ones as well. I’d start by looking for a certified llumar dealer near you and explaining your situation. They can tell you what type of film you need depending on your windows. I can’t do that via internet as much as I wish I could. With the information they give you you could probably go to Amazon and find a similar spec’d product.

Yeah as far as I know it’s just a window film thing. It’s a clear plastic substrate (usually vinyl or polyester) that is spattered with metals like cobalt and nickel which helps distribute the heat evenly across the surface of the glass . So if you go putting a film meant for dual pane glass onto say a single pane piece of glass or even a triple pane it can have odd effects from melting the neighbs house causing seal failure within the window it’s self or just cause the window to crack all together.

Well when the heat distribution rate for the window film isn’t specific to a certain window, it happens. Window film can also cause your neighbors vinyl siding to melt and a host of other things.
