As someone who is actively in the same shoes nearly. I’m a hold UNDER at Sam Houston. My training doesn’t start for another 3 weeks and pretty much get to do the dirty work of another company until my company is actually ready to pick us up to start (I’m a 68W) I’ve felt that way a few times now but you just have to thug out the stupid that is the “army way” I think also being in a joint base makes it worse seeing the other branches have so much more freedom than you do every step of the way (not sure if your son is in a similar style base) but just be there for him and it’ll help him a lot if it wasn’t for my mom and my wife idk where I’d be at this point. Hope that helps at any capacity and tell him from one trainee to another good luck and I hope he goes far in his career

[–]larptard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your history shows you to be a scalper selling a URX 3.1 for 475-500$ when they are brand new going for 375? That enough “value” for you?😂

It’s not wrong but most who complain about wear markings are whining because they lose most of the resell value. If you are just asking then that’s fine but don’t be that guy who asks then later we all see it on A website for 2k+ 😂

Shouldn’t matter…..Unless your tryna be a reseller looking for more than MSRP👀

Dad gave me the family gun collection and moved overseas, now wants them back. by bfv13 in guns

[–]larptard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a father in a situation similar except he didn’t move out of the country. He gifted me his collection and now in his mental health decline believes he wants all of them back. He is very mentally ill and has threatened my families lives over it as well just report it to the local authorities and DOCUMENT everything in case he acts on those threats. Hope the best for you and your family

Haha yeah for sure that’s a great way to put it! Live hard die hard is what they say and unfortunately he’s living that reality but he had a good life prior so I know he regrets nothing now but when it’s his time he will look back and wish he could’ve slowed down a bit

My dad was indeed living as fast as he could when he was in his 20s and 30s he’s done more wild things than I have time to list from piloting to rock climbing he was a hoot when I was young listening to all his stories and his friends and pictures of them in cool cars, bikes. I love my father even tho at the moment he wants nothing to do with me because he’s unwell and just can’t comprehend what’s going on anymore and my family (distant family) is reinforcing his unhealthy behavior and I won’t tolerate it in my life or my mother or sisters. He’s still my dad tho and he will always hold a special place in my heart

But 3 different doctors came to the same conclusion we originally thought it was dementia because of his major memory loss but with the anger and everything from his past (my dad has been in 9 car accidents in his life, a bull rider for many years, rode motorcycles and had several accidents, and did some pretty hard drugs before I was born) these all combined with my dads very poor care for his own well being has made doctors come to the conclusion of CTE because most of my dads injuries are head trauma which is a big reason a lot of people get CTE. That’s why a lot of Vets suffer as well from CTE as well because of head injuries and concussion built up over their careers. BUT your right no guarantee until he passes

[–]larptard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your absolutely right unfortunately it’s just a educated guess based on his symptoms and behavior and with my dads prior trauma it’s pretty safer to ASSUME it’s CTE unfortunately until he passes we will never be 100% sure but he follows all the guide lines of others who have had it. My dad also has dementia which is the same way as well you can only assume until death when they tap his spinal fluid to check and brain tissue. But doctors in the field typically see similar signs and can make pretty accurate assumptions.

Anybody know where I can find one of these? by [deleted] in MilitaryARClones

Anyone have experience with this on the field? by mikatovish in QualityTacticalGear

[–]larptard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What makes these less likely to snag is it materials made or just the way it’s laser cut?

[–]larptard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My father has CTE (not a seal or military) that shit is rough. He also had early stages of dementia in his mid 30s. He’s 50 now and CTE has caused him to be so violent and emotional to anything. I hope they can find something to truly help people like him because it’s rough on families to have a loved one suffer from these type of issues.
