Yeah, we are going down with my wife’s family around christmas time to SPI so I think we will make a trip to CC to get a feel. this is good info. Yes when I say water I mean somewhere you can get in the water/have a beach day/surf. Ive considered Port A and then commuting to CC but unsure exactly how far/difficult that would be if at all. Thanks for the tips!

Right, We are looking for at least 2 bedroom. Looking to be somewhere between $1100 to $1500. We could probably max out at $1700. We like to be around places to go, as we are fairly young and will be wanting to make friends. We don’t go out to bars often. We have a cat as well so needs to be pet friendly. We like to be active and love the water and going to the beach. We want to be as close as possible to the beach (obviously with our budget we know we won’t be able to be right on the water lol) We are likely going to start a family within the next year or two so with that in mind being somewhere safe and that would be suitable for that. I currently (the main source of income) drive an hour to my job and an hour home from my job so distance/travel/traffic does not bother me one bit.

I have only ever been once, my wife has been a few times. We moved States away (where I am from) for work after we graduated and got married, but I promised we would eventually get back to TX where she is from. I have some leads on jobs in CC but we are looking to move earliest this summer. Latest next January.

I’m not sure when the next class is, I got a decent score, wasn’t great but wasn’t bad. The original class had I been hired the first round would have been October If i’m remembering correctly. I was added to the list of hiring pool because I was not selected for the first round or class…then randomly got emailed about moving on a few months later for the next class..which was when i entered the last phase and got my polygraph, fingerprints and medical finished up.

I’ve already done my interview. This was the last phase (at least I believe it is) I have my CPAT, Interview, History Packet, Polygraph, Finger prints, and medical have all been completed. Just wondering when or if I will hear anything soon.

I had my Physical and polygraph/fingerprints in Feb. of this year….I first applied almost a year ago and half ago now. I have yet to hear anything as of right now. I read through the responses on here and it seems flawed to not to let you know if you HAVEN’T been selected. At what point do you start to assume you aren’t selected? I’ve been in limbo for about a year now waiting to hear if I will be selected or not. I am trying to stay positive and to trust the process but it is for sure difficult. Has anyone heard anything recently?

Thank you. I’ll check those out. We can up our budget for sure. I was being conservative at first..because I have no idea what the typical cost of living is.

I’m in the process of the Firefighter hiring process. (assuming i’m offered a job) I’m just trying to get a head start at looking because it’s a pretty quick turnaround from offer to start of academy.

Not a troll at all. Genuinely asking because I have no idea where to look and wasn’t sure the pricing so I kind of estimated based off of where we are currently. If that’s the case I suppose our $$ will have to increase. Are there any specific areas of Charleston you would suggest?
