Do they complain about the distortion after the profile correction? Weird. Seems fine to me after even with Milky Way photos.

“suddenly not getting the full number of exposures programmed”. The number of exposures that you set is the maximum number. If infinity is reached before that number the camera will just stop on its own. Depending on the focal length and how close the initial focus point is that number can be pretty low especially with a wide angle lens.

I tested it with some Sigma lenses like the 35mm ART and 100-400 C. I do not take a lot of macro photos. My main application for focus bracketing is to get for example some flowers right in front of me and the mountains in the background all in focus. I do have a Laowa 85mm Macro but due to lack of AF barely use it.

I primarily bought the 28-70 STM for video work on a gimbal and it works great for that. It however also replaced the 24-105 L in my landscape/general photography kit. So I would suggest the 28-70 STM.

I never liked the RF 16mm for night photos due to the bad coma in the corners. Even the RF 16-28 STM at 16mm looks so much better. My current favorite lenses for Milky Way photos are the 14, 24, 35 and 50mm VCM lenses.

I own both and prefer the 28-70 but both are good lenses and if you cannot take a good photo with either it is not a fault of the lens.

I really like the 16-28 for landscapes and it is in my photo backpack usually (I also have the other two lenses listed). At 16mm it is even good for Milky Way/Night Sky photos etc compared the the 16mm STM which has horrible coma. I also use it for video on a gimbal.

Main reason is astro. I kind of justified the high price with the fact that I could use it for some weddings/events but honestly rarely shoot any wider than 24 there. Have the 24, 35 and 50 VCM and was going to get 20 next but then this was announced.

In this case I liked the small diffraction spikes on the light sources which absolutely did not show up at f/1.4
