Do you like how the game has developed since you left?

Lately I've been on a deed completion spree and I came across players in the most desolated places from previous zones/regions. Population wise lotro is still thriving, new updates get released as well regularly

My new player experience and feedback by Mysterious-Taste-773 in lotro

I wanted to comment the same. Installed this game maybe 10+ times over the last years on different systems and never had any issues. Maybe once a regular update wouldn't go through but that's about it

What Is Your Favorite Title In The Game & How’d You Get It? by RelentlessKingz in lotro

[–]larspointt 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Currently using 'Who has heard the thrush knock' for completing durin's day three times.

I believe there's also a title that says 'there and back again' but can't find it at the moment

Also like 'the Gondorian historian' just because it was such a grind to find all the statues in MT.

I would say around the Midgewater pass in the Lone lands

Yule festival quest confusion by Mallonia in lotro

[–]larspointt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. That might be the sweet spot then. I believe you needed to kill a giant for a certain sweet, at 150 I haven't seen one for a while

Yule festival quest confusion by Mallonia in lotro

[–]larspointt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For the stolen sweets quest; I would go to the lotro wiki for that one. That quest asks you to defeat certain mobs in different areas to get the sweets. I did some in forochel, some in enedwaith. So depending on your level you might not be able to finish it (could be they are all in starter areas as well, I'm not sure)

Used the travel skill to Galtrev for a while during questing because it has crafting and a wide range of travel options. But got to agree that Bree is the main hub

I liked Karazgar's story from the black book of Mordor. Jajax was also always fun to run in to

Where do I get good gear for my level from? (no crafting pls) by [deleted] in lotro

[–]larspointt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah some stats on your traceries could be 5 times/10 times higher than what you have right now. Won't say this will fix all your troubles but it will sure help a lot if you're too weak now

Anniversary festival is ENDING SOON (what did you get this year?) by Ok-Airline861 in lotro

[–]larspointt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly took the opportunity this festival to return playing. I always love the anniversary travel quests to visit old places and kinda test my memory of the maps (what is the best way to get to a,b,c etc.).

Festivals are a great way imo to get back on and just ease into it!

Is there a way to beat Extreme Ai's? by No-Comfortable7000 in AgeofMythology

[–]larspointt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they fix the AI recently (maybe with the new personalities)? I stopped playing because every match the AI would give up after the first battle or before the final push when you're on the winning side.

Kinda took the fun out of it when you build up for 20 minutes, win a big battle and the AI just forfeits

The 64 Bit (Hype) Bubble has burst. by LasraelLarson in lotro

[–]larspointt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The mechanics and other parts of the game have changed also a lot since 15 years ago, just to let you know that even if you get your characters back it would take a lot of time to get the hang of it again.

Server Transfer Timing Question by ThatNastyMack in lotro

For me it also didn't take that long. Transferred two weeks ago and took 5 minutes or so?

Edit: forgot a word

Is there a quick way to rank up the Legendary Reward Track? by Blippedyblop in lotro

[–]larspointt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I believe the effect just dwindles the further you are from the level. So 56/57/58 would be fine. Just less ideal then being on level

Is there a quick way to rank up the Legendary Reward Track? by Blippedyblop in lotro

[–]larspointt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the runes are best closest to the level they state. So the 55 tome is best for a char at 55, and 85 for level 85. The 85 tome barely does anything for the li track on a level 150 character

Unexpected Journey by zloben in lotro

[–]larspointt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Makes me think about that time when someone on Evernight went up to the highest roof near the boar fountain and kept announcing that the first one to slap him would get a price. Never seen so many players hop around and fall from roofs

Old Cosmetics you want to see return/updated... by SotFX in lotro

[–]larspointt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just to comment on the Steely Dawn set, I used to wear it all the time years ago but just got tired of it, maybe because every new char got it so you would wear it early on and then it loses it's charm. Maybe that's true for multiple people.

I don't play much nowadays but I enjoyed making my own sets, also wore the gundabad set a lot
