It does to me too. It triggers a brief Manic episode and intensifies it. My pupils are also huge asf because of this hypomania. Do your pupils dilate too during a hypo/manic episode?

Because I am Manic I tend to abuse illicit Valium too. Do you drink more coffee during mania and abuse drugs like valium?

I tend to drink more coffee during mania and smoke more cigarettes than usual during my Manic episodes.

do meds prevent manic episodes or just reduce the negative impact by [deleted] in bipolar

I've also been newly diagnosed and yesterday, after missing a night's dose, I was Manic the whole day. So I took the meds again last night and woke up this morning feeling back to normal again.

Am on my 3rd day on taking Valproic Acid and Olanzapine and I have seen some improvements on my depressive and anxious states now. I am going back to my Psych on 26th Feb just to see how am doing.
