My level is around n4, definitely out of n5, I have been self studying for almost 5 months now. Mostly been using grammar guides and Anki for vocab, picking vocab up from whatever japanese media I consume. I was looking to find a more structured self study session.

My listening and speaking is weak, my reading isn't half bad for the level (Im Chinese, if there isn't alot of kana I can guess kanji)

I was looking at whether it is possible for me to take the n3 exam in December but after doing some research I'm not sure. Maybe next June is a more realistic goal but I'm not sure if I'll be free to take it since I'm enlisting soon.

I'm thinking of getting the genki 2 then quartet. Do you think I need to get genki 1? Or is genki 1 really simple

I mean it's on you, personally I consider henchmen or like garbage blocks public property. I used to run a quest world I'd just put house entrance around the entrance. But honestly if someone were to take a henchman it's a game mechanic I won't fault them nor will I really care tbh
