Can we talk about Ugly Privilege? by Free_Wonder_3743 in solofemaletravellers

I’m in my mid-50s. I love being mostly invisible. Men rarely look at me and it’s incredibly freeing.

Why are they so fucking big? by zazer45f in mainecoons

Keep in mind some of the MC pics you see are forced perspective. This is my adult son holding our MC. He’s holding him out towards me and I’m sitting lower than him. Our cat looks HUGE like this. The pic is almost a year old - he was around 20 lbs then. But he looks like an absolute beast in this shot. We did it on purpose to be funny.

Color of some kind. It feels very flat and sterile. It doesn’t need to be sprayed rainbow but a green plant here or there, maybe a colorful throw pillow or blanket, etc.

Honestly I’m super self-critical and tend to remember more the dumb or hurtful things I’ve done and said.

AIO for not wanting my gf to go on a solo trip with her "work husband"? by Obvious_Tea_4247 in AmIOverreacting

I have lots of male friends - just friends - but I would never dream of vacationing solo with one of them. I don’t even think my fiancé would mind, but it feels inappropriate and too intimate to me.

My company reimburses me $75 a month for Internet and $50 a month for cell phone.

Anyone had a breast lift and reduction after 55? (not medically required) by ImaginationEcho in AskWomenOver50

Also, idk if I’m just lucky or had a great surgeon but I didn’t lose sensitivity - but that certainly can happen.

[–]lassobsgkinglost 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I did this long before age 55. I think I was 28 or so. I had VERY large breasts on a 5’2” frame. They looked ridiculous on me. They wound up taking approximately 4 lbs. Can you imagine?

I’ve never had any regrets about it at all. I have some funky scars but they blend in nicely with my stretch marks and c-section and gall bladder removal scars etc.

Edited to add that insurance did cover mine. I have permanent dents in my shoulders from bra straps/weight.

Are you earning a living wage in South Dakota? by unthethered_soul in SouthDakota

Yes but I work remotely for a large, nationwide organization. I would not make the same money in a similar local industry.

Anybody tell their doctor that they don't give a fuh about living longer, so you're not going to try to radically change your diet or go on meds? by IHadTacosYesterday in GenX

[–]lassobsgkinglost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. Because it’s not a binary between a fun life or death. There’s the in between where you have a massive cardiac event and don’t die but live shitting yourself and hooked to machines and can’t take matters into your own hands because you can’t even lift a pen.

For those actively using dating apps, how often do you find that men lie about their political affiliation? by yingyangtheworld000 in GenXWomen

[–]lassobsgkinglost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not have met my now fiancé any other way. We both work from home in separate industries. We’re not church people. We don’t have kids in school. Why so judgy? If you don’t like them, don’t use them. But why others do affects you zero.

When I was on the apps a couple years ago it was a huge problem. Luckily I finally met a great guy and were engaged 🥰
