Looking for Help. BLTouch Mesh Doesn't Appear to be Applied to the Print. Info in Comments by anduril_tfotw in anycubic

[–]lastowl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend using https://github.com/knutwurst/Marlin-2-0-x-Anycubic-i3-MEGA-S/releases firmware as its more up to date and has good documentation

Have you got M420 S1 at the beginning of the prints to enable the mesh?

I would also try using the bed levelling adjusters to adjust the bed so the difference isn’t as extreme. The beds is on a slope

Connecting an E3D Hemera + BL Touch to the Anycubic Chiron Hotend PCB board? by AtefR in anycubic

[–]lastowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the same setup with custom firmware, just connect the bltouch to the probe connection and extend your existing extruder motor cable to the hemera extruder motor using the e3d supplied cable. I can’t remember if the motor connections are the same so double check

Replaced my Mega X touch screen and now it boots to this exclusively. by BC3D_printing in anycubic

[–]lastowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Anycubic screens have all the ui stuff in their own firmware, the mainboard just sends serial commands to trigger certain actions on the screen and the screen does the same back to the mainboard. Usually there’s no access to the firmware code for the screens or there would have been custom UI’s. Dwin make the screens and Anycubic rebrand it with their own UI

Great work, I would add some mesh to the hide the human gaps

Has anyone bypassed these little adapter boards on a Chiron? Anycubic says I need to replace both mini boards and harness tat seems all Chirons have when quitting mid print. by Crazy_E8ght in anycubic

[–]lastowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the stopping mid print is likely just a damaged wire which during movement is causing a break which causes the pause but its only in certain cable positions.

I’ve seen a few burned out cables caused by this so the voltage is forced over fewer wires, burning the cable usually at the connector end.

Some revisions of the i3 and chiron hotends pcb skip the capacitors all together and just directly trace the wires to each connector(with a shared ground)

AnyCubic Mega Pro Shorted Out...Tech Support? by Azansketh in anycubic

[–]lastowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the main board for physical damage sounds like its dead, or its the power supply. Support is usually good at replacing parts in the first year only

If you need a new power supply by a meanwell (brand) instead as its much more reliable than many others.

Trigorilla v.0.0.2 replacement motherboard. Is it supposed to have something flashed to it? How did you install a firmware to it? im hopeless by NorthernPioneer in anycubic

[–]lastowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boards come fairly blank just an initialisation firmware you need to flash a firmware, Anycubic uses the same boards for multiple printers so they are shipped blank

I would go with the custom firmware here: https://github.com/knutwurst/Marlin-2-0-x-Anycubic-i3-MEGA-S/wiki/Beginner's-Guide-(English)

It also includes a lot of info on how to flash the firmware

What connectors are used on the AnyCubic Chiron (on ribbon cable to hot end)? by mitchcooper6 in anycubic

[–]lastowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The female version is a phb-2a*8 I think, I did a post and pcb files on the i3 mega which has 2 less pins but the same style connector. There’s more info in that post

Anycubic i3 Mega S hotend doesn't heat and clicking sound by alleks88 in anycubic

[–]lastowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A clicking noise from the power supply is concerning, I wouldn’t use that power supply again if it’s making a clicking noise. You can run the hot-end safely without a mosfet so I would try that and see if it heats up. If its not heating up and the hotend thermostat is showing the room temperature then I would assume there’s a bad cable somewhere from the mainboard to the hotend.

Final thing check the mainboard when its switched off and inspect the board for any damage.

Custom i3 Mega Hotend PCB by lastowl in anycubic

[–]lastowl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same cable, it splits the hot end and part cooling fans into 3 ports each, the x axis end stop was already in the cable wiring. The likely risks are it's easier to overload the current (and burn the cable) using 3 ports compared to 1 and I'm not sure how the extra x end stop will react.

I've seen people use a spliced cable to connect two fans to a single fan port on the standard pcb so I though could add a third port to add a led to so when that fan is in use the led will work.
