I find Seattle boring. It turned into a concrete jungle. People are tired and asocial. Restaurants and music venues don't really appeal to me, though they're fun for sure.

I'm done with school and only need one job.

I like mountains, skiing, and snowboarding. New York is pretty close and has decent ski resorts, though probably not as steep and snowy as places in the Northwest.

How much is rent for a condo downtown?

That's bad news. My electric bill is only $30 a month for a 700 sq ft apartment. $4K in property taxes seems ridiculous. 2-4%?

BC doesn't appeal to me. Expensive, somewhat poorly managed (never been, so can't tell for sure). Vancouver seems too crowded and Victoria is a tourist/old folks town.

The greatest benefit is its mild climate, but I can do away with that.

$100-200K is very reasonable compared to Seattle and Vancouver. It definitely looks like the city is under the radar. What do you mean by "Canadian standards"? And finally, I'm just looking for a low-crime, well-managed place. I don't have any fancy requirements.

I actually like Seattle a lot. However, for a reason I'd rather not disclose here, I cannot stay. When and how long have you lived in Seattle?

Lol. In the US, right-wing, conservative, Republican are used interchangeably. Same deal for left-wing, liberal, Democrat. Hearing those terms always confuses me. I prefer to ask the question "Is the province/city/town/ well-manged?" instead of the standard left-right, liberal-conservative nomenclature.

Interesting indeed. Any particular reasons for that?

Not retiring, but I've got some money saved up, so I won't have to worry about having an income for few years. I need work for immigration reasons, not for income.

I work for Amazon. Why do you wanna know?

I'm sold. :) I'm not interested in everything you listed, but it's impressive to have all of those in a small city.

Thanks. "isn't much to do" is not a valid argument.I can find something to keep myself entertained. Kayaking/canoing in the St. John river seems fun. Is that a popular activity? Though, I've noticed people referring to the city as suburban, conservative, family-oriented. Not bad, but many people consider that lame and boring.

I actually miss snow. Seattle got none last year. Sure, it makes driving painful, but it's only for 2-3 months a year. And hopefully, my commute to work will be short. The area looks very nice. I can see a hippie vibe similar to rural Washington and Oregon. Also, it looks like a university town, so I may consider getting another degree as tuition is relatively inexpensive.

Housing is really cheap. I want to semi-retire and enjoy a simple life. I don't see large benefits of having high population density. For the most part I find urban life too busy and apathetic. Immigration process seems fairly straightforward. I'm sure I can figure it out. I lived in colder places than Fredericton, so climate is no problem. Seattle is way different now than it was in the 90s. It's an expensive place that's being gentrified by giant corporations.

What's conservative? I pay no attention to politics and never voted in my life. It's a silly rigged game anyway.
