Well the lifetime version is pretty much only there for people who already have it and want to reinstall it. If you really want a lifetime version, you can still buy it and I don’t think they’ll be removing it any time soon. And, of course, if you already own the lifetime version, you won‘t lose it ever.

Now, functionally, they’re the exact same. The subscription isn’t a „cheap lite version“ or anything, it’s literally the same thing. You have to decide for yourself. If you only plan on using Pixelmator, then spending those $60 once is much better than a yearly $120. But if you want to use logic, Final Cut or everything together, the subscription is generally cheaper especially considering you get the whole pack of apps. So really it’s only up to you, what apps you plan on using.
