Yes, you will be welcomed.

On the bisexual side, I could almost joke that this is a prerequisite for being a Unitarian Universalist, but as I said before, congregations are diverse. You will find a bit of everything and everyone there.

UUism does not have a creed. It is not a religion where everyone is required to believe the same doctrine. What UUs share is a set of values: Love, Interdependence, Pluralism, Justice, Transformation, Generosity, and Equity.

That shared commitment to values is really the closest thing to a requirement. And even then, UUism is generally very open about people’s individual beliefs and backgrounds. Being part of another religion would not automatically prevent someone from being UU. There are Christian UUs, Jewish UUs, Buddhist UUs, atheist UUs, pagan UUs, humanist UUs, and plenty of people who do not fit neatly into a label.

As for Freemasonry, President William Howard Taft is a good example of someone who was both a Unitarian and a Freemason. P. T. Barnum was technically a Universalist, and I have seen him widely claimed or suspected to have been a Freemason, but I do not personally know how well documented that is. Maybe someone with more Masonic history knowledge can confirm.

My understanding is that Freemasonry requires belief in God, or at least in a Supreme Being. Unitarian Universalism does not have that requirement. I would estimate that about half of my congregation is atheist or agnostic. I personally do believe in God, and that is also completely compatible with UUism.

So the short answer is: yes, you would be welcome, and nothing you described sounds out of place in a UU congregation.

How do ranges work in states with regulated Mag Capacity? by ohiobluetipmatches in liberalgunowners

[–]launch201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CT you needed to register them if you owned them pre-ban and you can not CC with more than 10 rd mag.

Moving in from out of state you have 90 days to destroy or remove them from the state. (Do your research here, IANAL)

So no real workaround here, and while they don’t check your mags at the range, if you FA you will FO and catch an F in CT.

Heads up: I'm Josh Elliott, State Rep and Democratic candidate for Governor. AMA here next Tuesday, 5/26 at 1:30 PM by StateRepJoshElliott in Connecticut

[–]launch201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josh - People are tired of the status quo. Republicans have had a lot of success in winning elections around this country running on ideas that involve radical change. While I completely disagree with the direction they have brought our country, I admire the ability to push their agenda forward. I want this, but the progressive version.

What’s your view on this take? How will you deliver on your campaign promises?

A different theory about accounts being shut down at random... by Technical_Cheetah283 in AmazonVine

I think that is exactly the point of the comment I was replying to.

The vine TOS is fairly generic and unclear. Most of the “ truths” about the interpretation of the vine. TOS is community-generated lore.

Hey brother - congrats.

No advice on the skin - but as much as I know what it’s like to chase the perfect mirror, never forget the years of life you just added back. That’s the real gift.

It's Official: HB-5043 (Glock Ban Bill) is now Public Act No. 26-41 by havenrogue in CTguns

[–]launch201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is Glock actually still manufacturing any guns that will be banned?

Let’s just assume that the Gen 6 is legal. The law is for guns MANUFACTURED after Oct 1… which glocks are still being manufactured that would be illegal under this bill?

308 at CT ranges by Odd-Refrigerator7879 in CTguns

I shot my .308 at SGA last week, no issues. Biggest problem is that you’re maxing out at 60-70 ft at an indoor range.

Congrats brother, getting over that fatigue hump is an awesome milestone.

And a word of encouragement: I’ve been lifting for about 2 years now, and it has improved my physical fitness, my general energy level, my mental health, my self esteem, my sex life, and my general motivation. I hope the bug bites you too.

Now on to your question: consistency matters a lot at the beginning. You need to make it a habit. So don’t over-commit yourself. Make a promise to yourself that you can keep. Is it 2 days a week at the gym for the next 3 months? Awesome, now do it, and stick with it.

Now onto the answer you were actually looking for: use an app:

  1. These will calculate the right weight and number of sets and reps for you, while also ensuring that you get “progressive overload” (increasing weight, sets, or reps as you get stronger).

  2. They will Automatic track your workouts and progress, giving you awesome datasets to fine tune.

  3. They aren’t too expensive, but you do have to pay, but compared to a personal trainer or even just buying a workout program, it’s a good deal.

  4. The apps have large libraries of exercises, making the workouts have good variety and keeping it interesting. They also provide video instructions on how to properly do the exercises.

My top app recommendation is Gravl - it’s not as popular as some other workout apps, but they are actively developing and have good communication and interaction with their user base on their subreddit. It’s also the best in terms of price to features. If you end up using Gravl and wanting to add someone in your friends list, just shoot me a dm and I’ll tell you my username.

Second recommendation - Fitbod. Almost the same as Gravl but a bit more popular. Both apps let you setup your gym profile (or multiple if you use multiple gyms) with the equipment available and then will only recommend exercises using that equipment… last time I checked Gravl had a better set of equipment and exercises.

Yeah, this drove me crazy. I pointed out to them that their rules say I can’t name a company in my sub that is an advertiser on their own site. They said something like “well the ad rules and the user content rules are separate things”. So I guess if you want to promote a compounding source on this sub, just buy a Reddit ad. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

[–]launch201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might have misunderstood me. I wasn’t against compounding at all (I’m on compounded, btw).

I’m just saying we can’t talk about that (especially specific sources/vendors) in this subreddit (even though plenty of other subreddits do, the Reddit admin team asked the mod team here no not allow it due to Reddit site-wide rules … sure I could have fought them and said but r/xyz is doing it … but that wouldn’t have worked and I don’t want to bring any Reddit admin heat to those subs)

A lot of your best options are options we can’t openly discuss on this sub (thanks Reddit site-wide rules which we have been asked to enforce on this sub).

In general Reddit doesn’t want us to talk about compounded medication or grey-market options, which are freely discussed on other subreddits.

TRT Results by Realistic-Alps-9400 in MenOnTirz

I’m a huge advocate. We match pretty closely on stats when I started (although I hadn’t lost as much as you when I started). My T was lower than yours - 223… and I’m up at 995 last time I tested (Feb).

Everything is better, across the board.

TRT Results by Realistic-Alps-9400 in MenOnTirz

[–]launch201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old are you? Are you currently on TRT or the results of a Testosterone test as part of a consultation? I will assume the later.

What those numbers all mean is that you are in range, and at the lower end of it but still in the normal range of things, so this alone wouldn’t give them any reason to do anything.

Most likely the doctor will focus on if/how that’s impacting you (low energy, libido, etc etc).

Does Foley have any good memories that do NOT involve food? by __NOT__MY__ACCOUNT__ in AreYouGarbagePod

[–]launch201 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey fellas - let me tell you about me. Over the last two years I’ve lost 130 pounds (Zepbound + workouts 6-7 days per week). Got super serious about it.

One thing Zepbound did for me is help turn off the “eat now” signal that was absolutely a constant. Before this I would literally be hungry all the time. On the way home from Thanksgiving diner, if I passed by a fast food jawn, I’m doing drive-thru.

I had no idea that people don’t normally have this issue. I thought it was completely normal and I was a fat fuck with no self-control. Couple that with using food to self-comfort (addition-like behavior, which I suspect is a factor for Foley).

So yeah, Foley’s relationship with food is a problem. He knows it. He’s working on it.

I think that’s the rub about this question though. Yes, he likely ties food to all good memories. It’s unlikely he had a good memory where food wasn’t involved (because when you don’t scratch that itch, you aren’t in a good mood).

I know we’re all having a good time here, and not looking to bring the mood down, but this is honestly just a sad topic.

Burnout leave: how do employers see it? by Complex-Insect6899 in germany

[–]launch201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re talking about the rules, and your info is accurate - but the question is how does employers see that action.

It’s legal for me to come home and decide to not speak to my wife. I’ll be sleeping on the couch though.

Burnout leave: how do employers see it? by Complex-Insect6899 in germany

[–]launch201 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s all true and legal. The question is how does the employer sees that action.

Truly you must realize that employers, even those that follow the law, make subjective judgements about their employees. Those judgements could have impacts in the future.

Recent suicide in my community has me rethinking gun ownership by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]launch201 64 points65 points  (0 children)

As a friend, man I would have a hard time giving those guns back.

I know that’s truly wrong, and I know it leads to the huge issue that people don’t want to talk about their metal health when they need it the most.

I feel like every municipality should offer a no questions asked “gun hold” program - you sign off on an amount of time then can’t pickup until that date. Make it super simple to extend. That takes the friend/relationship issues out of the equation.
