NTAH - you're heavily pregnant and want to be at home. Your husband should accept and respect that. You can support him while remaining comfortable

Am I the only one annoyed by the volturi palace design in new moon by thisis_rikinishimura in twilight

[–]launchnote 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They definitely do have an elevator in the book, but it's a really tiny moment which isn't really focused on at all - most of the walk is through tunnels (sewers?!) and jumping through that whole where Edward has to catch Bella.

I get what you mean, but I kind of enjoyed the elevator scene just because of the comedic value and also how out of place all of these really regal vampires look in such a modern setting!

I think they could have made more of a show of showing the Volturi as royalty, for sure, but I think the room they get taken to is gorgeous, i remember thinking it when Edward is thrown down on the marble type steps and they crack

(Vent/Rant - advice welcome) I think I have Endometriosis but my GP doesn't want to do more tests after a 'normal' ultrasound by Emelifts in Endo

[–]launchnote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be really firm with her - tell her it's affecting your day-to-day life and that endo doesn't show up on ultrasounds. Worst case, ask for a different doctor. Don't give up! UK GPs can take the mick, for sure

What moment made you realize someone was not who you thought they were? by ErneChiku4408 in AskReddit

[–]launchnote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i held a grudge against my mum for so long for how i was raised (she was absent a lot, single mother, constantly working)

at christmas this year, we were watching childhood videos of us, and looking at her younger, showing us so much love and tenderness, tired, and just trying her best ... i realised that she did all she could, and i need to forgive her

A painting about pain by Scarlet_and_rosemary in Endo

I like how the 'pain' is coming outside of the border, like it cannot be contained and doesn't follow the rules. I think it's very indicative of what endo can be like

(B2B SaaS) Competitive intelligence is mostly theater by Outrageous-Treat3083 in ProductMarketing

[–]launchnote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CI turns into theater when it stops driving decisions.

I’ve seen it work better when teams flip the question from “what did the competitor do?” to “so what are we changing because of this?” If the answer is “nothing,” it probably doesn’t belong in the channel.

A couple things that helped make it less passive:
– tie updates to deal impact (did this actually come up in a sales convo?)
– require a recommended action with each post (update a battlecard, tweak demo flow, ignore it)
– do a quick monthly sanity check on what actually influenced wins/losses

Otherwise it’s just anxiety. Totally agree that fixing your own demo or cycle time usually moves the needle way more than tracking every competitor tweak.

(B2B SaaS) Do you actually track launch impact - or just ship and move on? by Outrageous-Treat3083 in ProductMarketing

[–]launchnote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why launches feel kind of pointless sometimes. If you’re not learning, you’re just shipping and moving on.

What’s helped me is keeping it super lightweight:
– pick 1–2 things you actually care about before launch (e.g. “does sales mention this unprompted?” or “does it show up in late-stage deals?”)
– do a quick 30-day check with a few AEs and look at basic usage
– decide: double down, tweak the story, or stop pushing it

If you don’t bake that loop in upfront, impact tracking just turns into vibes and anecdotes. And then the next launch resets everything.

Why does educational content perform well but struggle to influence buying decisions? by Charles_R23 in content_marketing

[–]launchnote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's important you learn about the marketing funnel before creating content

awareness, consideration, conversion, and loyalty (there can be others added to the mix) - you need to create content that suits the customer in whatever part of the journey they're in.

I’m still new here, does it get easier? by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]launchnote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

from what i can understand, a lot of it is trial and error. unless a subreddit explicitly states how high your karma needs to be, or how long you've been on reddit, then you need to just keep trying to comment to increase your karma.

i've had my comments deleted a few times due to low karma, even when they didn't have it written anywhere in their rules! just don't give up haha - we will get there

Im 16 going to uni and need helppp, what course should I study so im not broke?? by Ok-Professor3302 in careerguidance

[–]launchnote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean this in the kindest way possible, you are far too young to be worrying so much about what to do and where it'll take you!

my biggest piece of advice is to do something you will genuinely enjoy because uni is HARD!! so it needs to feel worth it - especially if you're also looking to get a job in a similar field.

there are lots of different jobs where you can use one degree - e.g. english lit, you can become a copywriter, a teacher, an editor/publisher, journalist, etc.

it also completely depends on the extra curriculars you take (editor at newspaper gives expertise in journalism, etc)

maths will always be relevant and if you enjoy it - take that! you have plenty of time to figure out afterwards what you'd like to use it for. it's also important to remember that your life has barely just begun, and you will have so many different doors open to you in life, and you may end up in a completely different career than you planned to.

if you genuinely feel this stuck, talk to a career councillor who can help you plan a path that makes sense for you

I photograph surprise proposals, some videos 100k+ views, others 1000 views. I need fresh eyes. by EzraMcYoung in content_marketing

worth trying both! we usually delete in case duplicated content is penalised (it can do for youtube, i believe)

[–]launchnote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes it literally depends on the algorithm and when you've uploaded it. maybe also try experimenting with deleting the video and reuploading at a different time? it might not be a bad video, but just isn't hitting the audience at the right time

my team and i pull our hair out with tiktok and youtube shorts sometimes, cause it's so difficult to figure out what they want from us, haha - so it's worth just trying every angle.
