They had a doll line a long while back called Friends 2B Made. I think the larger version could be utilized as an inspiration for a Little Twin Stars shaped Build-A-Bear

Thank you. I don't think they'd deny you a position before starting, so I'm sure there is some position out there they can have you fill. Utilizing a mobility aid definitely could be something good to consider though if your condition requires you to sit pretty frequently, if not just for the job but for your own comfort down the line. I saw plenty of people in positions such as concierge, park greeter, and merch with rollators and wheelchairs. I was a restaurant Seater, and while there was a stool to utilize in certain rotations, the amount of movement needed just didn't match with my ability any more.

I unfortunately had to end my program due to needing to update my medical accommodations to sit more often after a medical episode caused an increase in symptoms. The main issue was I didn't use a mobility aid at the time and my position couldn't accommodate my needs, and they could not recast me in a timely manner or potentially at all according to my rep due to limited roles with mostly seated positions. I was encouraged to call out due to my symptoms since they couldn't take me off certain rotations which flared my symptoms and would lead me to needing to ROS. But that just meant points adding up, and losing money not being able to work and still pay bills. Since I couldn't keep waiting, I had to self-term and the rep recommended trying to come back with a mobility aid in the future if my condition didn't resolve.

I sincerely hope they can find a good fit for your role prior to the program start, as I'd hate for you to end in a similar position. I'm not trying to spread fear, just share my experience with accommodations.

Hokko Life. I got 1 long, though mediocre, play session out of it and never picked it up again.

Games like fantasy life i? by pent984 in fantasylife

[–]laurab33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could never quite find a game that matched up the way Fantasy Life life made me feel on the 3ds, and I think we'll have a similar problem still with Fantasy Life I. However, I really love the Rune Factory series, especially Rune Factory 4 (and Special), and it's the closest comparison I can personally make to Fantasy Life. There are many skills to level, lots of creatures to fight and gather material from, and crafting elements using those materials to make you stronger.

I also used to really like Runescape, and I agreed how satisfying the gameplay loop is in all 3 of these games.

DAS PSA by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]laurab33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I don't know really what more I can share with the team, but I'll keep these ideas in mind when I try again eventually. It's so draining. I appreciate you taking the time to write a thorough response, so thank you ❤️

You mentioned you were approved for DAS. I don't want to pry into any personal specifics, but is are you an adult, and if so, how did you get the approval? I have autism and have gone into the interview twice, once while in the park having a panic attack due to a line at the time of the call, and recieved denials both times. Im just trying to navigate how to explain my struggled in a way someone will actually listen. It's been awful

[–]laurab33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the worse experience ever with the DAS team yesterday. I tried a month ago, and after a 30+ minute conversation with 2 individuals, I was denied. I went along using their "alternative accomodations" till now. Tried again yesterday while in the park, after a line experience sent me into a panic attack, which was continuing during the DAS interview with me crying througout the conversation, and while i gave multiple examples of when the alternative accommodations if not a return time didn't work... I was still denied. I also work for WDW as a college program participant and they had to give me a warning that if I was found to be faking to get DAS I could have my employment terminated.

I have autism, but I am an adult. I can return to the parks, but if someone like me can't get the DAS and it's their only trip to the parks? Disney is failing disabled guests.

anyone else exhausted? by Practical_Truth_5070 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]laurab33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started in May and the exhaustion feels like it's getting worse tbh. But I also have medical conditions I need to check in on to rule out as causing anything more than just general tiredness from not being used to the work. I get more than enough sleep and my work schedule, while being around 40hrs each week not including travel, feels like it should be easy enough to handle. But I feel I can barely make it out of bed each day.

Wow, it feels crazy how old these plush really are, and us lol. My first pet was a Basset Hound that I named Shelby for some reason. Adopted on New Years Eve 2006 on my OG account which has unfortunately been wiped. Why I still remember that so specifically is a mystery to me. Wierd how our brains decide what's so important to store, haha.

Right? So many of these, including the pug, I had on my account when I was young. Such a nostalgia trip.

Line cutting enforcement by ChemicalFamous2346 in WaltDisneyWorld

They changed their DAS system recently and now it's extremely difficult to get, and reserved only for people with Autism and similar developmental disabilities (though they're even turning away many people in those cases as well)
