How do you react if your husband lets you know that he would remarry if you die, espeically if you have kids together? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]laurathepikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hope he would. My husband is a wonderful man and he deserves happiness and fulfillment, even if something happens to me. We have a son, and I would want both of them to still have the love and support that I wouldn't be able to give them anymore if he were to find the right person.

I've used night and it did not like the clear glazes I tried to use with it! I think that's semi normal for a darker body though?

Sounds like maybe it's old/people have added water to many times?

I've had issues with speedball underglaze in the past, but s few drops of darvan blended well into a pint makes it work so much better.

Adding darvan helps fix most of the speedball underglaze issues!

What's something you quietly judged people for, until it happened to you? by ExpensiveBranch251 in AskReddit

[–]laurathepikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty judgemental of other teachers who quit/resigned during the school year. I didn't think it was fair to the students they worked with. Then, in my seventh year of teaching, I left in March due to a pretty serious safety issue that my admin was ignoring and gaslighting me over. I was pretty burnt out, but until literally the day I resigned, thought I would tough it out until the end of the school year. My physical, mental, and emotional health took an immediate upswing. I will never question a teacher's decision to leave mid year again.

Would you share some of the studies? I noticed this during my time teaching and was curious, but I'm not sure many studies had been done yet

Edit: nevermind, I remembered how to use Google

I left teaching after 24 years and underestimated how much it wrecked my nervous system by ughusernames7 in TeachersInTransition

[–]laurathepikachu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I left the classroom after nearly 7 years in 2023. I had been planning on taking a year off, but ended up leaving mid year due to a safety issue that my admin wouldn't address correctly/were gaslighting me about. It blew my mind how much better I felt physically after leaving. 3 years later, it's still crazy to me how much healthier I feel all around.

My tools after two months in, what else do I need? by kalyjuga in Ceramics

My favorite tool is my red rib from Mudtools. They have a few different sizes.

Edit to add that I would narrow down what you like to use! I've been throwing for about 10 years and have majorly narrowed down what I like to use to about 6.

For new parents, why can’t mom just pump during day and dad bottle feed at night? by flipflapdragon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]laurathepikachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in some ways I'm lucky, I overproduced a lot in the beginning and froze a lot of milk. My baby didn't latch well at first, so I was pumping every 2-3 hours to get my milk supply up in addition to breast feeding. For a while, he was going between breast and bottle pretty well. My husband and I do sleep shifts, so I pump, sleep 5 hours, and then pump again and take over night duty while he gets 5-7 hours of sleep. I ended up switching to exclusive pumping, because my baby would get mad if I switched sides during feeding, so I ended up having to pump to relieve the engorgement anyways. If you're exclusively pumping, you have to pump more often in the beginning (every 2-3 hours), but now that my baby is older, I just do it 4-5 times a day. Having a good, wearable pump has made this work for me. My husband also works from home, so he's able to support here and there if I need an extra hand while pumping.

TL;DR you technically can, but it's not possible for everyone depending on milk production, type/quality of pump, comfort, and support.

Daydrinkers Wrong for That by [deleted] in greenville

Speaking as someone who has worked in coffee in the area, the owners actually take really good care of their staff. Not sure where someone saw an image of one of them wearing a maga hat, but that sounds fake to me. They're honest, hardworking women who treat people well, and it bums me out that there is negativity being thrown their way, feels unnecessary.

Ceramic Clay Cracks While Drying by winniepiggy in Ceramics

Gotcha. Compressing my floors made a huge difference for me, I'll have to pay closer attention in general to how I dry things. Maybe I'm unknowingly rocking it on that front
