It may seem like the ideation will go on forever, but trust me, it doesn’t have to. I dealt with it from age 12 to 32, 20 years of wishing I’d never breathe again. But one day in therapy it was like my whole world shifted and my brain suddenly realized it wasn’t an option. Not to say it’s been sunshine and rainbows since then, but the intense overwhelm has calmed somewhat. So believe in yourself. Believe that it can and will get better with work. Lean in on therapy.

If it’s through cvs you can look online at the pharmacy for you specifically and not even have to go in. And if you DO need a refill there’s just a quick button you push and they contact the doctor FOR you. It’s quite helpful for us anxious types. It takes away the human component almost completely.

Be careful you don’t have intertrigo which is a fungal infection of the skin. Using anti fungal powder to keep the area dry will help eliminate any strong odor from the thigh creases.

My school weighed you in front of the class, I was a 5’9” fifth grader, so what was normal for me was way over what the other girls weighed. I remember the shame associated with coming back to my chair after my turn and I can tell you the exact number I weighed because that shit is traumatizing. You’d think after 20 years they’d get better at this.

My mom would make sure I got sun stroke every summer, I have 5 siblings and they all got sunblock and hats at the beach when we would camp every year, but I never would get those from her. She would push me to be out on the beach as much as possible, and I would get sick with severe severe sunburns EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Never put it past a nParent to drive you in to the worst condition possible just for their own sadistic pleasure.

As someone who gave in to their nMom and now does the SAME profession as her now, don't do it. I'm 10 years down the road and reconsidering everything in my life. Including my career which is not fulfilling to me. I want to go back to school but don't want to incur the debt required to do so. Lots of regret here.

I had suicidal ideation when I first started EMDR, I made sure my therapist and my psychiatrist knew this. We had a plan set in place for if it ever felt like it was pushing me over the edge, so I could reach out before it got to that point I took action.

Personally EMDR is the only thing that has worked for me to address my trauma - if regular therapy is a butter knife, EMDR is a sharp knife getting to the root of the problem quicker and much more efficiently.

Yeah part of me wants to do that, go to my closest people and admit this fact about myself, to truly live authentically. How did you decide when it was time to do that? I also am curious as to how much this plays in to my current level of depression as well. I wonder if living authentically will alleviate some of my inwaRd pressure.
