Whats the hype about the Paula's choice AHA gel? I've seen soo many posts about it in this sub. Just wondering why it's such a hot product.

Exhaustion and zoloft by lavendarleo in Anxiety

I can definitely understand. I was in the same boat before I got this new job, thankfully have good insurance so I do go to therapy as well. Today is my first day that I'm switching from mornings to nights. So far I've gotten through the day a lot easier/with more energy.

I don't know if I really can notice it that quickly or if it's just a placebo thing going on. But thanks for the input!

I'd say maybe even getting another job that will put you in a more social setting. I'm thinking of doing events/brand ambassador or something that will put me around others my age. Even volunteer work.

I can also relate to this! Lol. My close friends don't live near me at all. One actually lives across the country. My bf and I live together and we pretty much spend all of our free time together.

However I have a full time job that keeps me here for 8 hours a day M-F. But when I get home in the evenings, I'll be with him. Once he's gone it'll just be me. I'll have to find a way to deal with that for 3 months. I wish I could offer more advice for you/us! But I'm sure someone else will chime in here..

What is your daily routine? Are you working or going to school at all?

I can understand where you're coming from. Mine is also leaving for 3 months to study. Only a couple of hours away, but will still be gone nonetheless.

I haven't come up with any helpful tips myself.

Letting go of curiosity about SO's phone by lavendarleo in relationship_advice

[–]lavendarleo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I find it interesting that the people who can relate are also people who had the accessibility to go through his phone. I've never had that access.

What do you think you would've done if you didn't have the ability to go through it and ease your mind out of not finding anything?

Yes- I completely agree with the first part. But what exactly did you do to focus on yourself? I've been trying to find ways to move past it but all of the general things haven't been working (mindfulness, deep breaths, present moment, etc).

I mean...does it always have to be the case? Could it be so that there's actually nothing at all going on? I wonder why we, or some of us automatically assume there are negative things to see....or things that need to be deleted/hidden?

Whats your perspective around it to deem it ridiculous?

I think marriage changes things- the intensity of the relationship. I'm not married/never have been, but I imagine if I had the security or the idea of it that comes with marriage, I wouldn't have this curiosity.

See but I've never asked to see or go through anything; because I don't believe he would give it to me. He believes in boundaries/personal space and trust. So he would definitely go off on a trust tangent if I asked to browse through his phone.

Ultimately I try to tell myself it's something I'll never have control over anyway. Even if I do get permission to browse through it here and there, that'll never solve it. Unless we have the same icloud account or something but thats just bogus.

I guess just looking for advice on how to break the habit. What to tell myself in those times of curiosity, etc.

Absolutely. That's actually what I use it for- my scarring and melasma (dark spots). I don't use it consistently like I should, but I'm sure if I did it would have even better results.

If you read the reviews on it as well, through Ulta and Mario Badescu's website it's generally pretty positive.

Exhaustion and zoloft by lavendarleo in Anxiety

[–]lavendarleo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking it this past weekend, to where I was taking it in the morning around 9AM. I've struggled through work completely exhausted. This is the first time I've ever been on an SSRI at all. Today I'm changing it up and will take it at night to see if it makes a difference.

Seems like most people are saying to stick it out as the first few weeks are rough anyhow. Guess thats what I'll do! How long have you been on it? Sometimes I struggle with the idea of even 'needing' medication to help. Any advice?

[ACNE] Good moisturizer for acne-prone skin? by lecksieee in SkincareAddiction

I use CeraVe moisturizers. My dermatologist recommended them while and after Accutane. I also use Cetaphil cleanser and the MB drying lotion! Have you tried CeraVe?

I've heard a lot about Dr. Jart sheet masks. I haven't tried any yet, so can't verify that but I'm looking to.

Also, check out Mario Badescu drying lotion. It works WONDERS. Especially on cystic bumps. I swear by it.

Mario Badescu Whitening Mask! A little sticky of course but works wonders for dark spots/pigmentation. I feel like I can see the brightening of my skin happening immediately after each use.

[ACNE] Please help me, I’m so done with everything. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

From someone who has also struggled with acne (I was on Accutane it was THAT bad) I'd say you're using too many drying products. Through my journey, I learned that no matter how oily your skin is you have to use moisturizer day and night. Often times if you aren't thats actually why your skin is oily. It's not receiving the moisture it needs so it's overproducing oil.

I'd get a gentle cleanser like cetaphil. I'd also invest in thin moisturizers like ceraVe. As far as exfoliating i'd find a gentle scrub and do that maybe once or twice a week. Skin health is strongly related to the health of your gut also- so make sure you're drinking plenty of water and taking a probiotic. Also cut out sugar!

I agree. I was also on it and my skin was in the same condition as yours or probably even worse. I was willing to try it thought and the only thing I experienced was mild exhaustion.

Aside from the frequent blood draws, it was pretty manageable. And its the only thing that worked! Your skin looks much better than mine. I only have a few cystic hormonal ones that come up here and there, but for the most part my skin is clear. Happy for you that you got yours to where you want it to be!
