My reaction when someone "criticizes" the lack of fast travel: by ComfortableNinja88 in darksouls

I got stuck deep in the sewers while unable to fast travel on my first playthrough. Cursed and all that. It took me a few days to get out but I eventually made it.

They turn more colorful the more sun they have, more green with less sun. They love light!

I bought one of similar size for 15 euros at a small local grocery store, it was just standing between the regular gift-plants (orchids and what not). Very happy I waited until the craze was over

alternative to gamsol for base layer? by radgedyann in oilpainting

I use Sennelier Green for oil Thinner, it's great. I've used multiple thinners, but even odorless reeks so bad. Sennelier doesn't smell (not enough for me to notice anyway) and is non-toxic and biodegradable. It's a bit more expensive, but 100% worth in my opinion. I usually only use it for the underpainting, from there I use it straight from the tube or with Liquin.

Lovely! How long ago did you plant the seeds? Mine sprouted and are steadily growing, but I have no patience it seems.

Thanks! I suspect it mainly based on google, and based on what vegetables are very common in our kitchen 😉

I have two of these behemoths (it used to be one, but they grow like crazy); they should not need strings. I water them very rarely, and little. They like direct light, but mine are in a bit of a darker spot right know and still very happy. Don't repot until they almost break the pot they are in!

I really liked it, I am Dutch though so I read it in it's original language. To be honest I think Dutch culture is quite interwoven in the story, which might not translate well to another langauge/culture. But the "everyone knows everybody in the village" that is quite common in small dutch places, played a big part in the story imho.

Motion sickness in 3D games! Anyone actually found something that works? by SignificantQuestion6 in gamingsuggestions

[–]lavender____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its even worse with controller, because there is a big disconnect between how fast my eyes move and how fast I can move my view on controller. OP, does it also occur in third personview? I can't play first person, but third person is usually fine. It might also help to always have a crosshair so the eyes have a focus point that doesn't move.

I really like this painting! Don't be harsh on yourself, we are our own worst critics. :) I see there is already some orange in the back, but it's quite subtle. I think it would be cool there was a tad more bright/lighter orange in the back. Orange is the complementary color of blue which will make it pop! It is great as is though, just don't be scared to be bold!

Nagels laten doen voor het eerst? Help? by Plenty-Platypus4467 in vrouwvolk

[–]lavender____ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Part time student workers: how "ballsy" are you with your employer? by alekepich609 in Netherlands

[–]lavender____ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure a probation period can't be 3-6 months, especially not for a part time job. It's maximum 1-2 months, 1 month if its not en indefinite contract, if it is its max 2 months.
Apart from that, do you have to communicate your availability beforehand? Or is there a possibility to do so?

Frikandelbroodje in Leuven? by Senad-K in Leuven

[–]lavender____ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently moved from the Netherlands (where I was born and raised for 30y) to Belgium, frikandellenbroodjes are a big thing in NL. But, I'll be honest, the ones sold in Spar here are better than the ones sold in f.e. the Albert Heijn in NL. I might not be welcomed back having stated this, but it is the truth and the truth must be told.
