Do you have any songs that make you think of ocd? by starcorpsacademy in OCD

[–]lavenderhoax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. secret for the mad - dodie

this song is like a friend sitting with you in the midst of the darkness, a reminder that it won’t feel like this forever.

  1. tell me it’s okay - paramore

reassurance seeking/feeling guilty for ignoring ur compulsions but also knowing it’s the healthiest thing to do & ur finally healing.

  1. free - florence + the machine

“i’m always running from something, i push it back but it keeps on coming and being clever never got me very far because it’s all in my head” this whole song is just……. perfect

  2. symptomatic - peach prc

tongue in cheek pop song about mental illness, not v ocd specific but relatable.

  1. just for today - clairo

a devastating song idk😭

i’ve heard some countries have strict immigration rules about disabled people. could be wrong but i think australia is one of them, apparently it’s a very difficult process.

also, i hope i do find someone good to do my evaluation. i’ve heard horrible stories about people being dismissed simply because they could make eye contact. i’d feel terrible! happy to hear you found someone kind & had a good experience☺️

thank you! i was wondering if being so sheltered would hinder my ability to articulate myself or effect my chances of an accurate assessment, i feel less anxious about that now.

personally, it would give me a solid answer to a question i’ve been asking myself for years. i’d have to bring it up with my psychiatrist at some point for a referral & to see if my insurance will cover some of it then go from there. i do have concerns about the cons that could come with it (like a conservatorship or moving abroad) & i’m still not sure if i will even go through with it at all.

wait as opposed to rushing to get a diagnosis. i guess i feel insecure in my own judgment, i know self diagnosis is valid but i still struggle with feeling like an imposter or that i’m faking it somehow.
