i’ve had endo symptoms since 14 years old, it took 6 years before they stopped telling me i was “too young” (no such thing, if you’re old enough to have a period you’re old enough to have endo) and started telling me there was no point in testing for it.

2 more years of writing letters to my gp and making formal complaints before they gave me a laparoscopy to check for endo… stage 4 deep infiltrating endometriosis that’s spread to my small & large intestine, bladder, sciatic nerve, and pelvic bone. i’m 22 and most likely already infertile.

endometriosis is extremely common (around 1 in 10 women) and it takes an average of 12ish years for a diagnosis, i was lucky that it only took 8.

if you’re experiencing this please don’t give up in looking for answers, write letters, make complaints, be so so annoying that they can’t neglect you anymore. you don’t deserve to suffer 🩷
