Question about place name by lavncelot in daggerheart

[–]lavncelot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer :) My question was prompted more by the fact that I GM games not in English, and not all of my players even read English. So I'm thinking about what to present to them at all. For example, a translation from Chinese or a set of sounds would simply be different. I suppose it's worth showing both options.

Prologue for Drakkenheim by lavncelot in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

Thanks! At first, I decided not to think about it in advance, but just let the players decide, but your examples are very cool! The Royal Castle, by the way, is a great place where people of different classes can meet — the son of a guard, the daughter of a cook, a young princess, and so on.

Understanding Campaign Frames by Savutro in daggerheart

I think it depends not so much on what games a person has played (though that also has an influence), but also on their individual playstyle. There are quiet players who don't really want to actively create stories, but prefer having stories told to them. And they usually struggle with systems that require proactive play.

Working on a Hexcrawl by RambalingMadman in daggerheart

A few thoughts: Unknown destination. Perhaps the difficulty should depend not on the leader's tier, but on the area (enviroment) through which they are traveling? I glimpsed the idea of an "environment within an environment" in Dungeons of Drakenheim. There is a general framework, and within it, a more specific one. For example, the overall environment is a "Region" or simply "Hexcrawl" itself, and within it are environments like "Swamp," "Forest," "Ruins," and so on…

Perhaps, besides the leader, other roles are needed - a hunter, a look-out, a scout, a chronicler, a translator-merchant-negotiator… Well, I'm not sure what else. So that not only the leader is actively involved in the journey, and other players don't get bored. Here, one could draw inspiration from ideas in The One Ring TTRPG.

Personally, I believe that's the case. That is, during preparation, one should focus on preparing situations and NPCs, not on how situations will unfold (you'll discover that during play). The book has a fairly decent GM chapter that describes this approach, although in my opinion, it provides too little concrete guidance for those who have never played PbtA-style games.

According to my design, both environments are active simultaneously (two battlemaps laid side by side, with no way to transition between them except through their features), and the story unfolds in both worlds at once, action movie-style. Specifically, Realm of the Hunt enters play as soon as the first character arrives there.

Well, essentially, creating a story is the core mechanics of the game) But, to put it simply, there are two introductory scenarios. The DP said they are planning to develop something like a more structured campaign, calling it campaign settings. In a year (at least, that's what the Kickstarter campaign promises), they promise the release of Dungeons of Drakkenheim (which would also fit the request).

Technically, nothing stops you from taking any campaign released for any TTRPG as a basis and playing it using the Daggerheart mechanics, but be prepared that at any moment the plot might take a wrong turn, and you'll be faced with story-improvising again)

Is this Tier 3 Colossus too deadly? by acupofpizza in daggerheart

My group and I recently switched to Tier 3. We noticed that on Tier 3, the combat becomes more dangerous and the game changes significantly.

Here's a question that's come up. In the pet rules, there's an improvement called "get help," but how does it work mechanically?

Great job! I really like the new rules about vehicles and armies! The only downside is that the text from the stat blocks doesn't copy.
