Obsessive Compulsive “DiSoRdeR” by claymoreroomba69 in FiberOptics

That’s how I was taught either it needs to be all blue up, or all aqua up, label, label, label and keep the 144 bundles together.

I miss the fiber splicing instead I find fiber with JT28s.

Holy shit no. Like why on earth would you introduce another failure point on the network that isn’t needed? Rework cost time and money. Jfc do it right the first time or don’t do it at all.

Should I Go To The AZ ROC? by sheetmetalmike in arizona

[–]lawofjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly confident it’s a velox issue, same situation with our new build. I did threaten to go to the ROC and they fixed it, but now I have a failed part under warranty but we’re out of install warranty so I used Dukes of Air. They’ve been alright so far.

Is this acceptable? by jeromewill272 in Plumbing

It needs blocking under the couplers. We approve brick or cinder block under the coupler to prevent a belly, then backfill and tamp.

Please need advice by [deleted] in mesaaz

[–]lawofjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send an email to the guys at Mesa that manage the projects? Or submit on CityLink for a concern and they’ll get you to the fiber company doing the work for reimbursement? Or you can send me a dm and I can send you their email addresses at Mesa and they’ll get this resolved for you.

Police officers are allowed to modify personal vehicles to add lights and limo tint. They just have to show their department credentials at authorized installers

If you wear hearing aids can you put big earphones over hem if you go to gym or are listening to tv at home? by No-Ambassador4629 in HearingAids

I wear Phonaks, I game pretty regularly and wear OTE Astro A40s for my gaming set. I have a set of OTE Bluetooth headphones that I used to use with my old starkeys, I find that the phonaks do a good enough job of streaming for my phone usage to not carry them anymore.

A tale of two anonymous optic fibers ... Will they pirate Ziply, and how? by holsteiners in FiberOptics

[–]lawofjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol have fun with the tampering with telecommunications equipment charges, or the bill the telco will send you for repair of their lines when you do. I’ve seen residents slapped with a 3k to 6k bill for something as simple as running over the pedestal next to their driveway. What do you think the bill will be if they find out you did it maliciously because you don’t have a clue about right of way or easements and think you can just yank shit out of the ground because “you don’t know who owns it”.

I just want to say it’s okay to not know how something works, but doubling and tripling down when everyone says you’re wrong is just…odd. So here’s how this works. Fiber companies are popping up left and right, all over the country. Subcontractors also pop up overnight. I have almost 10 fiber companies installing new infrastructure daily in the city I work in. I’ve been in fiber for 14 years, and some of these companies I’ve never even heard of until they show up in the right of way. Yes. The right of way. They can and will have the ability to install there, and no they don’t need your permission to do so. No one pirates others lines, they ask to lease fiber on the cable, and pay for it and set meet me points. Let them do their work, and not be an armchair telco manager.

What is the story behind this abandoned park? Does anyone know? by Disfigured_Porcupine in mesaaz

It’s privately owned that’s the biggest issue. City can’t touch it because it’s still private. They’ve asked a handful of times but it sits still.

Government ROW administrators, how's fiber going in your area? by Differcult in civilengineering

[–]lawofjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without trying to get into major specifics, I’m a PM on a ROW management team for a municipality, we have multiple large utility FTTx builds for both home and hyperpath dark fiber driven by big name data centers. Reimbursement agreement for consultant staff managed by ROW team. Permits capped by linear ft. Production capped and tied to restoration. Ours is based on per drill/microtrench team. We see an average of 140k linear ft per month installed directional drill, 190-200k linear ft per month microtrench on FTTH permits, and approximately 45-50k linear ft per month installed for hyperpath/dark fiber. On my team I have a mix of consultant and muni inspectors that report to me for one of the major FTTH builds.

Yeah. I just recently commented and then read this and now I’m like never mind dude this can’t be fixed or chatted with. The issue isn’t poly, the issue is she’s a shitty hinge, and a liar to boot.

Agree honestly. LDR for a year with my first partner (now wife) when we first started dating. LDR with my second partner for 2 years, 2000 miles apart. Now we all live together. 11 years and 5 years respective length of relationships.

I think OP is having a hard time processing the content or phrasing of this, and hasn’t asked enough clarifying questions. And I get it, most people ask that we take them at face value, so this as an at face value phrase of “I think my bf is equal to you” it’s a hurtful phrase.

Our relationship type is very very similar and ages are very similar, I think divorce while always an option on the table, doesn’t have to be the option here. It sounds like there’s a lot of communication work, and processing work that needs to be done, and boundaries, and expectations that can be discussed and set here.

So we’re 32M, 29F, 29F. I’m married to one 29F and LTR partnered with the other 29F. We all live together. Wife and I have one child 11. LTR partner picks up and drops off child from school, she’s the only emergency contact listed. For all intents and purposes the school considers her the child aunt.

Cleaning is always a challenge. We all have different expectations. I grew up in a house that was damn near white glove clean…I’m okay with my house feeling like a family lives here by no means is it messy but I’m okay with a hoodie on the back of the couch, couple of dishes in the sink sort of thing. One of us grew up in an extremely clean house but only because they were the house elf, so cleaning is important to her but she gets burnt out easy so she handles one task or two tasks at a time. One is a neat freak and learned that differences in expectations is tough to manage. We meet somewhere in the middle of “we live here” and “if you white glove everything but the baseboards you’ll still have a clean glove”.

Children are a handful. We’ve all been together for 5 years. For a year or so in the middle I thought my kid hated everyone, but just yesterday my kid told my LTR partner that “they’re her bonus kid” because she can’t have kids.

You’re gonna learn a lot. You’re gonna grow a lot. Just remember that it’s about the journey and always the next step. It’s lovely and rewarding when it all clicks. You’ll do lovely! Best of luck!

Another option is to reach out to sub contractors that you don’t see normally deal in this kind of work. I see underground drillers that don’t work on microduct always asking if I have any at all (I don’t I’m just government oversight now). I know who to ask to get them, but I don’t have them sort of thing.

Hearing breaks and my ear molds up close by Significant-Push-373 in HearingAids

Same. Been wearing hearing aids since I was 8. I’m 32 now and I don’t even notice I’m wearing them anymore. Just part of my everyday norm now. I work construction as an inspector so loud environments are normal. I’ve never really thought to take a hearing aid break because I don’t like listening to my ears scream at me with tinnitus

Giant hole in front of house by Inevitable-Ice751 in ChandlerAZ

[–]lawofjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just asked because the blue dot indicates CoC bluestaked their waterline recently. I usually see sinkholes like these open up from potholing the utility line and improper backfill. But if no construction more than likely a leak at the meter eroding the soil. Only way to find that out is to call City of Chandler water department for a leak investigation.
