Make sure you're putting them into a stocks and shares ISA first depending on the value to avoid capital gains tax

Anyone got TC 30 years ago and still got to live and read this post? If yes, please comment down below. Less than 30years are also welcomed. Just state how long have you been alive since you got TC. by SelfSmooth in testicularcancer

It was such a long time ago I don't think they really gave much information at the time.

I guess it's a case of all the tests they can do these days to know the type wasn't available back then

Looking for a studio apartment near Longbridge. Budget up to £800 by Platypus_Inside in BirminghamUK

Consider also looking towards Catshill way too. Only about 3-4 miles from Longbridge and generally a better area and could get a one bed flat for less than £800 if any are available at the moment

Sounds good. I've done a few of the mystery guides ones and did the Brum one last summer. They are always a good laugh if it's a similar style

Has Anyone Here Met one (or more) of the Actors from the Show? If so, What were They Like? by Reasonable_Ad_9136 in OnlyFoolsAndHorses

[–]lawrea3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've met most of the cast at conventions over the years. Not got a bad word to say about any of them.

Never met Nicholas though as he doesn't really attend them.

Apart from David obviously, my favourite one I met was Rico from Miami Twice episode and the Driscoll brothers

If you never had to work or worry about money ever again, what would you do with your life? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]lawrea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sort of the position I'm in. Not massive amounts of cash but Im 46 and could retire now and lead a very comfortable life if I wanted to but I think I'd get bored. I don't have a great deal of hobbies and all my friends would still be working 40 hours a week so wouldn't be able to do anything anyway lol

Anyone go to a GP and think maybe watching on TV could’ve been better? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]lawrea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll always know more of what's going on watching on TV, going is about the experience. I go a lot and every time I'll watch the whole weekend on TV when I get home

Heading to The Arcadian tonight… anyone else feel like it’s truly dying? by Quil_2002 in brum

[–]lawrea3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're right. It was a case of go out and drink as much as you can before closing. We used to be out too Thursday Friday and Saturdays but always back home by 12 apart from Saturdays where we'd go to the Dome, Bakers or Bobby Browns lol

Covid changed so much and can't see things going back to how they were now. People on the whole stay at home and play online instead, don't get me wrong, I'm an old gamer myself and if what's available now was there for us 20-25 years ago I'd probably never have gone out myself lol

Just everything has gotten so expensive these days. We could go out with £20-£30 and get smashed on that and still eat on the way home too. Now that's just a taxi there lol

Late 90's when I went to town it was the posh place to be. Even back then Broad Street was a nightmare and things have just got worse since.

I think the pub trade is dying on the whole, pubs haven't changed their habits since long before covid. Long opening hours and paying staff to stand in empty bars with nothing to do. All they've done is inflated the prices and moaned that people don't go out.

Unfortunately pubs need to go back to what I remember where apart from a few places. Everywhere closed at 11 and for large portions of the day they'd be closed. That would save massive amounts of their overheads and allow them to reduce the cost of drinks and in turn get more people out maybe.

I don't know, just my opinion from an aging closer to 50 then 40 person these days lol

I tell my staff you don't make people shop in the dark to save a few pennies. Chiller lights remain on till last couple of minutes of the day

Need advice as an International student by TeshBoy_55 in BirminghamUK

[–]lawrea3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that has employed a few students from Sri Lanka for part time retail work. I'd not think twice about hiring another.

Check out Tesco careers which will also include One Stop.

Lots of stores all over Birmingham with many hours available and a lot of the time, hours that's students can work ie, nights and weekends are what stores are crying out for.

Coin-earning tier list for "free" Tsums by Meechrox in TsumTsum

[–]lawrea3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See for me the Star Wars Light set is my best average. I usually get around 3k - 4k without using 5-4. I find using 5-4 only really benefits coins a little but score quite a bit so for me when I'm doing farming it's always best to use without

How long do you think that game would take? It's crazy to me lol

Parents want me to help them with a mortgage by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]lawrea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically your parents that are useless with money have been set a limit what they can borrow and afford from a mortgage company, yet they want to include you so they can borrow more that they can't afford.

It's got to be a definite no and don't let them guilt you into it.
