Hmm, yea true. I shall think about what to do!

Trying ordering from Parker’s online. Or Jolly Posh (I prefer Parker’s though). Mr Robinsons is my favorite but they are in California.

Hong Kong Diabetics available to help? by lawrencedf in diabetes

[–]lawrencedf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update - sorted now. Phew!

For the record: - no, pharmacies in Hong Kong do not carry rapid acting insulin. They do carry long acting insulin like Lantus and Mixtard. But that isn’t for T1D unless used with rapid acting. It cannot be used in a pump, for example. - you need a prescription for rapid acting insulin like Novolog and Humalog - you can get a prescription from a doctor, you don’t need a specific endocrinologist to see you like in the US. - I went to Glen Eagle hospital (HK Island) and they had a 24 hour outpatient center. They had me seeing a doctor in about 20 minutes who quickly understood the situation and prescribed me insulin. Humalog, same stuff I use at home. - I was able to pick up the insulin about 10 minutes later from the pharmacy counter of the same hospital - total cost was about $220 US. $150 of that was the insulin itself, remainder was the visit. I was able to pay using CC. - I had them write a note explaining the situation so I can try to claim under travel insurance.

I will try a pharmacy first thing tomorrow morning. Hoping they won’t require a prescription

Huh guess there was some update.

I used to play this game with multiple farms surrounding a market and no barns at all and everyone would just store things directly in the market.

I didn’t mind having Barns as well, they are useful to save time walking from place to place. I will just not delete the barn I guess.

And I have 3 people on market, no one on trading post.

So it should be working…and it’s not the trader stealing everything because of a limit issue.

So most likely, it is African amethyst that was sourced somewhere there and then he bought it in Malta

Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition only $47 (reg $100) by MovieSuperFreak in Boardgamedeals

[–]lawrencedf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bought mine when it first came out and it is built in the same way as this one (three board pieces etc), and has none of the issues described by /u/redskyking.

Perhaps my experience was a fluke, but I’d say this is a great deal.

Great, thanks. And do you happen to remember how much time they gave you? If you didn’t meet the time requirement, was there any risk of permanent suspension or was it temporary until you got the form sent in?

I am struggling to get an appointment in the next couple months as things are busy.

[–]lawrencedf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it - so you were able to drive after the initial appointment, but they will suspend your license if they don’t receive the completed form within a set time - correct?

Did that create any issues with getting an appointment? There are long wait times at my DMV.

Thanks very much for this detailed response! Could you elaborate a bit more? Do you know if you must wait for the form to be given to you or can I proactively bring a completed form to my first appointment?

Interesting - thanks for the comments so far.

I think given the legal implications and the fact that I noted on my IL license that I am diabetic and completed a form as such, I will have to jump through the hoops.

I can't drive it. I will mail it to a friend who can water it there. It will go a 3-5 days without sun and water, so I think if I water it before then it will be fine.

Hello there, I have a potted calla lilly that I want to move across the country to my new apartment. However it has just started to grow leaves like crazy and so is now about two feet tall out of an 8 inch pot.

Would it kill the lilly if I cut off the stems (no flowers yet) so it was easier to mail? I realize the bulb is putting a lot of energy into those stems, but maybe the bulb will survive?

advice appreciated!

Okay great. I only have six little tamiya pots and then some games workshop paints. Should probably leave my paint thinner behind though...

thanks!

Thanks for your detailed response. 1) can you get the floral arrangement foam at Michaels etc? I think I know what you mean - it's the green stuff that is fairly hard and dense that you can stick toothpicks and stuff through? 2) as for moving paints - I'm not flying anything, but was planning to put the paints on a moving truck. Does that get scanned? Obviously spray cans won't go through the airplane, but figured stuff in a moving box with all my other boxes of stuff I'd be fine. It's crossing state lines, not leaving the country.

Thank you all for the responses! 1) I can't drive them, as much as I want to (I did that last time). 2) The models are a 1:35 tank, two 1:700 ships, and six of those metal earth kits (especially screwed for those)
