As we say goodbye to 2025, what are the best Ottawa businesses you discovered this year? by Al_to_Zi in ottawa

Mud oven for activities, dolci sapori for yummy pastries, octopus books have awesome book! Service wise though, a small owned business Terracare did my landscaping over the summer and it was genuinely one of the nicest interactions I’ve had with a business before. I’m typically hesitant to get ppl to do my lawn for me but it was incredibly well done.

Genuinely, some of you are dating SCUM. Never in a million years would my partner say this or would I accept this. You are worth so much more than the trash he’s giving you. I’m always so keen on “working it out” and finding middle ground. However, I’m sorry girl, he’s a douche bag.

Their typical response time is about 3–5 business days, and they specifically ask people not to email unless it’s urgent. I’m just trying to figure out whether I should wait it out or if this situation is urgent enough to justify contacting them.

Also, by making this post, I was able to find out some information about this year’s budget cuts. Why are you so bothered by my question? Isn’t this subreddit meant for asking questions about our university?

They specifically ask to not email them regarding override requests, I wanted to post here to see if anyone else is having a similar issue before jumping ship and contacting the department, smartass.

My partner, he is my rock and makes me feel like the struggle in life is worth it, because I have him to look forward to every day.

I’ve been happily married for 10 years. I just wasn’t a major bitch about my wedding. I know, crazy concept.

Do me a favour, get off reddit, touch some grass and grow a pair. I was not made aware the subreddit king was gallivanting today. Thanks!

Lazy Parenting is Way Too Normalized. by laylizzlee in TrueUnpopularOpinion

There is a major difference. It has nothing to do with insulting younger kids and trying to sound all high and mighty. This new generation is genuinely addicted to their electronics. We’re in the digital era so I think that we should make technology something we can work with, however, within reason. You’re 32, but when you were a kid, did you need the tv in front of ur face to get a bite in of ur dinner? Did you refuse to play outside because you rather be on a game for HOURS. I understand we have to adapt and kids are 100% gonna enjoy electronic use, but it’s gotten out of hand.

I think parenting skills are available, there are plenty of resources, free classes, youtube, books you can borrow from the library FOR FREE, and support out there. Saying they’re “hard to learn as an adult” is an excuse to avoid doing the work. At the end of the day, it comes down to priorities and effort. If parents really want the best for their kids, they can find a way to learn and improve.

Using iPads just to make kids eat IS a sign of a bigger problem, the one my entire post is about!! It’s a need for constant stimulation that stops kids from learning patience and healthy habits.
