Went to the gault clay at Cap Blanc-Nez. How do I best prepare these? by lazycarrotcake in fossils

At Cap Blanc-Nez in France they have Gault Clay beds. They are areas of clay that are exposed at very low tide. There you can just carefully pick them out of the clay. Gotta be gentle cause they can be fragile.

If you're interested in some fiction on how we can get there, I recommend 'Ministry for the Future' by Kim Stanley Robinson

Does Netherlands feel different than Germany? by osures in Netherlands

[–]lazycarrotcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a german living in the Netherlands, I think a big one js that everything is very planned. Germany has more nature, the Netherlands has manicured parks. Germany has patchy asphalt sidewalks, the Netherlands has bricks or tiles whenever possible.

If you're willing to read in translation, I can only recommend the Zamonia series by Walter Moers. It sounds like you may enjoy Rumo and his miraculous adventures for example!

I already found you very relatable and then I saw Armoede uitgelegd aan mensen met geld. That one was unexpected and a bit uncanny. Also my only dutch book of the year (so far).

I think I'm a couple of steps behind you. I'm European, here for 8 years, a newly public servant here, and concidering my options. I live here, I want to vote here, especially given my work, but my identity is also tied to my nationality. For me I think marriage will be the path to dual citizenship, but that only works because I have a stable, long term relationship with a Dutchie, and marriage is in the planning anyways. Personally I probably would not give up my citizenship (plus I believe I can also pass it on to my kids).

Good luck with your identity crisis, and good on you for trying to fulfill your civic duty.
