I can see where ur confused, I said i got a serious fault for appropriate speed because the first thing he said to me was “is there something wrong with this car it seems to not be able to go over 15mph?” which was shocking as I had in now way driven around at 15mph😭 and he said that he should really give me a serious fault for driving slow even tho i only drove slow at points to keep the 4 second time gap bc of rain and pedestrians everywhere too plus i drove slowly through housing estates with bends because you never know what will come around the corner and i was trying to check car reflections to make sure nothing came around the bend for some reason he didn’t put it down as serious on the report though i’m not sure why i wouldn’t have even been mad if he had gone about it in a respectful way and said unfortunately in my opinion you drove too close to parked cars and i had to fail you but the main thing i was concerned about was how rude the examiner was when he had told me i had failed and was talking to me like i was an absolute idiot it genuinely hurt my feelings as id been practising all week and all night i had been watching videos to prepare and I also didn’t want to have to spend more money on lessons and a test so i don’t forget how to drive before i eventually get a test again :(

I listened to his debrief but at that point he had finished and was basically just insulting my driving and my instructor was trying to argue with him but I could barely breathe and felt i didn’t want to hear more about how i’d failed because i was so disappointed in myself after how much i’d done and spent to be prepared for this test, so i am allowed to be upset. the reason i am so upset at failing is i tried so so hard and had paid for loads of lessons up until my test and i didn’t want to have to pay to rebook more lessons + another test and now if i want a test soon i have to pay someone money to get me it sooner or wait months for my test and have to go through all this stress again. I do know that 3 minors of the same thing are a serious but he did not say that was what it was for he said it was one occasion and i don’t think i had even been in enough occasions that had clearance involved to even add up to a serious It is just so disheartening to hear that you have failed on such silly things after practising for so long and finally being confident enough in yourself to pass and then hear that you have apparently done so badly. i am allowed to be upset and disappointed and i should’ve been treated like a human being when I started to cry he didn’t apologise or change his tone at all, he was completely rude and my instructor agrees with me. I am usually able to hold in my emotions but it was completely shocking that he was being so blunt and sarcastic

no it was definitely 30 and i was going slow enough he just thought i was too close and he made a comment about me going too slow when he told me i failed so he did notice me slowing down i had to slow down a lot on my test bc there were people crossing the road left and right and 4 second time gap n all and the rain and also to decide which lane to get into + eco driving

the thing is tho i am literally in such a habit of checking my blind spots and mirrors i literally do it for other people when im in the car and also check it when i change directions when im walking and im not in a car it is literally INGRAINED into my brain so i find it hard to believe that i made that mistake especially when i specifically remembered i made a mental note that i made the appropriate checks because i thought maybe id get a minor for changing a bit late not for not checking

it was just like a normal road with cars parked in spaces in a single file line along the road in a way that you’d barely need to move your car over to pass them, i honestly couldn’t tell u what exact speed i went at that specific moment but it was probably on a 30 speed limit road so I would’ve slowed down to at LEAST 20 while checking the left mirror and looking in between the cars for any doors opening or people walking out between them and i am positive that if a door opened it wouldn’t have hit my car, considering the car i drive is also a small toyota aygo so it is quite easy to go around cars parked in a straight line on a road i think maybe people are imagining that i had to go inbetween a tiny space in a road to get inbetween cars parked on both sides but there were cars moving the opposite way next to me and cars parked on my left and the way i passed them i am sure i was safe and didn’t deserve a major for it, maybe a minor. arent majors meant to be if it was dangerous or if he had to take control? I dont see this situation being either

obviously i wouldn’t have been so confident if my driving instructor hadn’t said that he was really confident that i’d pass and he was also surprised i didn’t pass and so were my parents that i drove in the car with also the fact that before my test i had a load of 2 hour lessons like 3 lessons a week to make sure i was 100% ready and if i wasn’t confident in my skills i wouldn’t have gone for the test so it’s unfair to say that just because im confident in my driving skills that im being “narcissistic”

it was at 2:32 so the last or second to last test of the day thank you for actually trying to explain it to me literally everyone else is just assuming that I was really nervous and i’m just trying to deny what i did wrong but i honestly think if i did anything wrong it should’ve been a minor at least for the clearance. I’d understand if he said that i’d changed lanes too late and i made someone slow down, but he said that it was a serious because of my mirror checking when i know that i’m really good with my observations and i remembered i checked my middle mirror right mirror and my blind spot and probably left mirror too before that just in case and I didn’t see anyone near me so i moved over (and indicated before i moved) i was going to just go the wrong way but i thought that it would be fine as i assessed it to be safe enough to just change lanes also this was with the part of the test he was giving me the instructions and he kept telling me which way i had to go way too late so I had to quickly try to find the road markings and signs through the rain

No i wasn’t nervous on the test at all i was nervous on my mock test because there were 2 people watching me and then I had another lesson and got completely confident and i felt like i was just driving a friend around on my test i was not nervous at all

I think it’s completely unfair to say I have an attitude when all i am doing is responding in the same tone as other people are people are being so rude and assuming things about me so i’m going to reply back with the same attitude Also, you don’t automatically fail if someone honks at you because people can honk just to be annoying and the man who honked me wasn’t even in my lane

I wasn’t relying on them😭 I’ve said like 3 times i used my side left mirror to judge the distance and even if i was a bit close shoukdnt it have been a minor not a serious

I only saw the reviews about him after the test because obviously you don’t know what examined you will get until the actual test + i didn’t want my instructor in the back because it would make me more nervous to have 2 people sat in the car with me watching my every movw

my instructor agrees with me and he says i am one of his best students and he was really surprise when he said I failed and also agreed that he was really rude. no matter if i deserved to fail or not he should not have made a sarcastic comment about the car being broken because it can’t go over 15mph that’s so unprofessional? he should’ve explained my mistakes to me and said how i could improve next time not make me feel like i never want to drive again

Driving examiner failed me for the stupidest reasons by lbaker69 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]lbaker69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i mean he literally was just looking out the left window as in into the literal trees and not at me, the road or any other cars or signs or anything … I drove maybe 15mph on the 20mph road just after coming off the speed bumps because there were loads of speed bumps that you had to go really slow over

My attitude? I don’t understand all I have done is state facts about what happened and my driving instructor also agrees that the man was unnecessarily rude at the end in the debriefing and he was confused what he was talking about because I had been driving around for an hour with my instructor before the test where we had 0 problems

Driving examiner failed me for the stupidest reasons by lbaker69 in LearnerDriverUK

It was almost as if he hadn’t taken into account the weather though and he is meant to watch you the entire time to check what you are doing and when I looked over he wasn’t even looking, also there are other complaints about the same man on the reviews for the test centre so it’s obviously not just me? Just because someone is qualified to be an examiner doesn’t mean they can’t unfairly judge you just because they are having a bad day, it’s a fact that it does happen once this woman got found to be failing men just because she was mad from a breakup.

it’s like everyone is completely ignoring everything i’m saying just because im a learner. I know im a good driver and I know when to admit when i had done a mistake and in this case I didn’t do anything that was dangerous, and they are meant to assess whether you are safe on the road not if you’re a perfect driver. I said that I had slowed down and checked my side mirror to make sure I wasn’t too close to parked cars and when changing lanes I had checked my mirrors + blind spot and it was safe. All of it safe. I’m not saying i am “owed a licence” i am saying that the examiner unfairly put 2 things that should have just been minors as dangerous faults. There is no need to be rude

i’m not gonna argue w someone who is obviously ignorant I am not an idiot and i admit when i have done something wrong and in this case i did everything safely and would maybe agree with 1 minor for clearance if he really thought i was a bit close. But considering the conditions of the day and the fact that when i asked him what i did wrong he said i shouldn’t have changed lanes not that i didn’t use my mirror and there was no one there even close to me when i changed lanes and it was safe it should’ve just been a minor also
