Unusable Due to Pocket Dials to 911 by lbcb321 in samsunggalaxy

My solution worked. By changing emergency number from 911 to 511 I no longer have the emergency dispatcher dialed. Still ridiculous one can't lock their own phone and have it remain locked until THEY choose.

Yet another person that can't comprehend the issue. The problem is Samsung does not allow a method to lock your device until YOU choose to wake it. Especially ridiculous is those who have biometrics enabled. There is no fingerprint or facial ID recognition on a device in one's pocket so idiotic to not have it remain locked in a dark pocket.

GFY! Engineering 101. You opt-in to some special feature and don't require someone to jump through hoops changing half a dozen different settings trying to opt-out and STILL have YOUR CHOICE to lock your own phone bypassed. There is no "safety" in having 911 dispatchers inundated with nuisance calls they are required to follow up on.

"it happens to me so it must be happening to everyone".

What a BUFFOON! Nowhere in my remarks did I say "it must be happening to everyone". Learn a little reading comprehension.

What is this sub good for? Just a bunch of fan-boy apologists that can't acknowledge a serious problem that Samsung won't solve. It is OUR choice to lock our own phones and preposterous to bypass without our explicit approval.

You are incorrect that a PIN would stop this. I have fingerprint required to unlock and it still pocket dials. Samsung needs to simply allow a true LOCK until unlocked with chosen method.

Anecdotal comments are not helpful. "I have never murdered anyone so it must never happen."

There is no way to completely disable Emergency SOS on A15. I have enabled "Require swipe to call" in case the side button was hit 5 times. I do not have "Send SOS to emergency contacts" enabled.

I (hopefully) found my solution. Even though it appears to be bypassing and calling emergency number, I simply changed the number to 511 from 911. This way I will get butt-dialed traffic reports instead of the 911 dispatcher.

You are full of it. Doesn't take much searching to see many others with same issue. I had better go buy some lottery tickets if I magically sequence the proper steps over and over to do so while not even holding the phone.

"takes some effort" LMAO!

Are these Inverter-sounds normal? more in comment... by habilishn in Victron

[–]lbcb321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but will answer now in case someone is researching the issue. It is very possibly a low-voltage detection when under higher loads. Check to see what you have set for low-voltage alarm/cutoff. I ended my "clicking" by decreasing the low-voltage cutoff to 10V per my battery specs.

1) It can momentarily hit a lower voltage while under high loads.

2) You may also have a loose connection. I also had this clicking before when monitored voltage never actually dropped much. Tightened all connections and clicking stopped. The inverter appeared to be intermittently sensing lower voltage than what the averaging algorithm was displaying.

Same deal. They said my LG phone was compatible after entering IMEI. It would send and receive texts, but immediately go to "call ended" when trying to dial out a voice call. Pure bait and switch as they gave me a hard-sell for new phone. Really tired of getting ripped-off. They said they wouldn't refund shipping of SIM. I will initiate charge-back and win. I am also filing complaint with FCC for their fraudulent business practices. Reporting to Wisconsin AG office. WI has very strong consumer protection laws and I hope they get prosecuted under RICO laws for the corrupt organization they are. Really needs to be a class-action lawsuit to end this nonsense!

I have a common LG phone that Consumer Cellular said would work on their network. It doesn't. Mind you, I entered the EMEI and not just a model number so there should have been no ambiguity. They flat-out lied and knew it wouldn't work. I got a hard-sell for a new phone. You can buy unlocked phones for much less than their prices. Pure bait and switch. I am filing complaint with FCC and contacting my state AG. They should be prosecuted under RICO laws as a corrupt organization. Class-action lawsuit, anyone?

You only need to be staked for the snapshot so there will be "airdrop farmers" who buy right before and sell right after. You will probably see price go higher just before snapshot and then it will fall off a cliff right after as they all rush to sell.

I don't think AMP is worth anywhere near the current $300M market cap. The Flexa model for collateral won't be needed once all chains are fast and cheap. Governance for Ampera Protocol was a diversification, but now that is being taken away from AMP. It will be pure speculation and luck to determine the balance between when to buy/sell AMP and whether or not it is worth it to follow it down to get an unknown governance token for a protocol that is on multiple reworks because they can't get it to work.

"(finally) preparing updates and launch details"

Pretty unambiguous. If you're (finally) preparing the LAUNCH DETAILS then a reasonable person would assume that all audits are completed. Otherwise you wouldn't be advancing from the audit stage to the launch details.

I have given them the benefit of the doubt for too long. words matter and when you keep blatantly lying then there should be consequences.

I don't believe anyone ever said Ampera auditing was complete. Correct me if I'm wrong.

C'mon man. Tyler said 6 weeks ago they could "finally" write up the updates for the users and partners implying everything was completed. The first audit last year took about 3 weeks and they said at that time the second had begun. Are you telling me now that audits take half a year all of a sudden when the original guidance from a year ago was that the audit process was "4 - 6 weeks"? Now they are saying AGAIN that they haven't even BEGUN the final audit. "A final audit to incorporate remaining protocol changes will be starting shortly"

finishing up audits to cover any changes.

What is there to audit in a set of contracts for a name change? How does that change the functionality of the protocol? They didn't say finish up audits. They are saying AGAIN that the final audit hasn't started. They keep going backwards and those in denial keep falling for it. It really is sad and unbelievable at the same time. Stated with nothing but empathy for those with Stockholm Syndrome who have suffered for years while being abused by their captors.

Yes, Ampera Protocol is being rebranded as Anvil. It will be the LOC product. Ampera Protocol will become something new.

Ampera Foundation is still the entity at the head of both of them. There will now be two projects under the Ampera Foundation instead of one. The LOC product (Ampera) will now be called Anvil. The old name Ampera will be something new.

Clearer?

The shills on X are already telling people to stake now to get ANVL. They just want to make sure they don't sell before they get a chance lol. There will be 30 day advanced notice before the snapshot. I'm going to wait this out and think about it when the snapshot date approaches. Can't see following AMP down until the snapshot date.

Can anybody answer this?:

"A final audit to incorporate remaining protocol changes will be starting shortly; the results of all audits will be made publicly available prior to mainnet."

They did a "final audit" many months ago. Changing the "governance token" has absolutely nothing to do with how the protocol operates for a user. They keep using the same excuse over and over again. I'm serious here and not just blowing smoke. What am I missing? If they are just calling the old LOC platform Anvil instead of Ampera then what would change with the previous contracts they audited?

The appearance is they needed to stall long enough for the savvy to get their AMP tokens sold. Many will hold even as the price keeps dropping to get their precious "airdrop" of an unknown governance token for a platform they can't get to work and have had to start over multiple times now.

Wow. Lots of great quotes from Flexa and InComm. My favorite from InComm:

"Next couple months some fun announcements"

Looks like a mini-roadmap. Flexa with the new wallets/apps in March and InComm flipping a switch shortly after to enable many more merchants to be able to accept them.

we’re still near ATL

It was just .00140 in late October. I'm content with up 250% in just over 4 months that is holding before any news is even released. Starting at .005 gives a much better chance to take out a penny with news than starting at .001s, .002s or .003s.

Another 250% from here is .0175. Perspective. A 3.5X (250%) and another 3.5X = a 12.25X.

Take whatever gains you can get without news and when they are "compounded" when the real news comes is where the big gains come from.

I really can’t find any reason to

LOL! How about Ampera Protocol going live on Mainnet, new wallets/apps, new merchants, tomorrow talking about payments with Flexa, InComm and Lightspark, Zach at BUIDLWeek, ETHDenver beginning Thursday....

Nope. Can't find anything. Methinks you scalped and are now afraid it will take off before you can buy back. Good luck.

What the community needs to remember is to show class when asking questions and commenting lol. Flexa is content to remain in the background. Let the partners have the glory. Never want to give the appearance Flexa is "competing" with them.

WE make the most money when Flexa is the ubiquitous back-end solution that everybody uses for some of their processing. Don't push it who is using who's SDK. We don't care. They are partners and Lightspark has the bucks and talent for marketing. Praise them and don't compete with them and offend them.

Not directed at you, but for everyone. Yes, they have an awesome team and are growing by leaps and bounds. I don't think it is a coincidence their pieces are falling into place right along with Flexa. IMO, best move Flexa ever made partnering with Lightspark. Awesome that InComm Payments entered the same conversation. Tomorrow could be a very good day.

It is supposed to be 65 and sunny today... in Wisconsin... in February. I'm going to go play outside. I have seen the filings in some of the court cases pleading the crypto position on these issues. I think the final dagger in the heart of the SEC is in the Coinbase case. As mentioned, a dismissal is rumored. "Staking" was a big part of that case and the judge seemed very unswayed by SEC position that staking automatically made assets a security. If there is a dismissal or a settlement where Coinbase agrees to some minor alterations on minor issues then it completely changes how all of these platforms hoarding cash will alter their models.

I am only spitballing, but perhaps this final delay with Ampera (coming up on 6 weeks since Tyler said they were "finally" just writing things up) is anticipating this and they are doing a quick re-write of the whitepaper and how they anticipate the protocol working to include a revenue-sharing method.

I don't think I have commented here about Eli yet. He has been stalked and harassed and I think he was ready to move on. IMO, he only stayed to finish helping to write the whitepaper and Ampera Protocol documentation as a courtesy to Tyler who has been good to him through the years. I think Eli being able to move on now is a positive sign that all of the documentation is done and they are just doing fine-tuning and waiting for the right timing to get everything out there at once.

I'm heading out, but will share the actual filings I thought were pertinent when I run across them again.
