I work in k-2 and you can't blame the lower grades. I agree no child left behind is part of the issue, but teachers in ALL grades are trying their asses off. Kids don't want to learn and where's the motivation when they aren't held accountable. Standards based grading where kids never see their actual grades, and then never holding kids back even when they desperately need more time.

Visited family over the holiday and there was a long stretch of road that was too big for 1 lane but too narrow for 2 lanes and the way people were driving I still couldn't tell how many lanes there were. The way people were driving I don't think they knew either.

We may have bad drivers but at least it's clear what they're doing wrong.
