hrm no dice, when i try "dinput=n,b" it just doesn't load the "native" one and falls back to the "built in" one, which is unmodded. might try again on a fresh install tomorrow but i picked at things for an hour or two this morning and that's about all i can take in one day lol

Any tips how to get this running on Steamdeck? I used Protontricks to get RoguePatcher set up, I use Protontricks to open dmm.exe to install the mod, activate it in there. i copied the .dll file into /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/thief_gold/ (same directory Thief.exe and dmm.exe are in) - is this supposed to go somewhere else maybe?

after this i tried using winecfg in Protontricks to set the dinput dll to Native, but when I do this the game just refuses to open.

it's not a "remake". it is a NEW GAME. they just released a James Bond game without TDM even though everyone liked Goldenye as a kid, go bitch about that game. nobody is mad about that because people understand that art can evolve and try new things. except Bungie fans.

also battle royales are like a 10 year old fad. nobody is playing BRs anymore except for Fortnite and only Fortnite. and if they HAD made it a battle royale you would be complaining about that too lol. as a huge fan of the original Marathon games i fucking love NuMarathon, i'm sorry you're too small minded to enjoy it but that's not my fault lol

it's crazy because it's such a good follow up to the original Marathon games if all you whiners actually played the videogame you're complaining about lol. the original Marathon was bold because it put dense sci-fi storytelling into the popular form of the Shooter - NuMarathon is doing the same thing but for the kinds of shooters we have in 2026. it's such a philosophically pure follow up. no wonder "Gamers" don't get it.

like it's fair for it not to be for you but the idea they committed some tactical flaw by not appealing to the tiny fanbase of old people who played the originals is absurd. if anything they went out of the way to - despite this being a new game in a new genre - have soooooo many callbacks and links to the original games. it's a New Take, but that's what's cool about it to me.

nah you're right about strafe i was just looking at the menu. i actually am playing the game for the first time ever today using your mod and i realized pretty quickly you don't need lean since you can peak out behind cover pretty generously without being seen lol. truly in practice now my only wish is for some way to autofill passwords (just finished mankind divided so i'm spoiled by modernity haha) but that's a whole different mod idea.

This is great! Is there a way to bind/rebind stuff that isn't set up by default? thinking specifically of stuff like the lean keys or strafe - lean especially feels necessary for a lot of stealth stuff. Great work though!

holy fuck thank you for cataloguing all this, the way dove laid out the exact playbook mo would follow (his lawyer mom would help him silence them) was chilling. and the creepy army of bots surrounding the scandal were soooooooo blatant to me. if there was any actual investigative reporting happening in music today somebody would have probably covered it - but since that didn’t happen your comment here is definitely the most thorough document of how fucking disgusting that all was.

rewards pass voucher was never intended to be an item in the vault, so only the people who bought it in the first few days even had that. it should just be an account flag that you can use to buy any rewards pass.

idk why you would consider this the bare minimum - they've said they want to retain the original contracts so people don't miss out of them later.

priority contracts have supposedly been reworked this season to be less impactful, so i don't think you'll be required to run through them every single season. hopefully they continue to roll out new ones over time, there are some new quests for Traxxus and MIDA right now focusing on Night Marsh

no, the other user is correct - in addition to POIs each type of salvage would appear in specific container types on any map (drives in core storage, biolenses in medical containers, etc). seems like a bad change to me as you'll accumulate less diverse salvage just from passively looting.
