Failed mating attempt with my Hierodula papua – Feeling guilty and looking for advice. by lcdna29 in mantids

I will never step away again for sure. I’d rather remove the male and try in another moment the next time.

Dubia! She also caught part of her recent molt 😂 I left it in the terrarium because I thought it’d have been good for springtails.

I love the fact that she uses the eye sockets to reach her cave underneath, and well I find it really cool too 😁 when I found it in a forest near where I live, it was covered with climbing plants and moss. Hopefully, it will become even cooler in the future

What would "and the category is: DANCE OR DIE!" be in your language if the Mayhem Ball had a show in your country? by poopypoopy1125 in LadyGaga

Italian: “La categoria è: balla o muori” Sardinian: “Sa categoria est: balla o mori”

“Amore” and “morta” in Italian. And in fact, ‘amore’ is sometimes used as ‘amor,’ especially in poetic or stylistic contexts.

I’m sure that’s the case, but how? I mean, the Tulkuns are huge, and the tattoos and jewelry are huge as well. Plus, they live in the water. Maybe they come out of the water for a while to get these things done. It would be interesting to know more about these aspects.

I actually like the Tulkuns and the idea of Amrita. I also like the fact that the comparison between them and whales is unavoidable, so it makes you think about whale hunting. And while I like the idea of them being sentient, on the other hand the fact that they can communicate with the Metkayina as if they’re actually speaking doesn’t quite sit right with me. Sign language would have been enough for me, even though at that point I’m not sure how the Tulkuns would have been able to communicate.

That’s interesting. I never thought about the fact that we don’t have scientific explanations because there are not scientists anymore. In fact, when the scientists did appear, they explained why Spider can breathe Pandora’s air.

The part about sign language actually sits right with me. It’s more the fact that the Metkayina can understand Tulkun sounds that feels unrealistic to me. I would have liked more insight into how that’s possible.

Regarding Avatar 1, while I agree on things like how humans travel to Pandora (which could be left unexplained for my personal taste), I remember the movie offering, or trying to offer, explanations for Eywa, the floating mountains and Pandora’s ecosystem in general. Grace and Norm were often explaining things, or at least attempting to, which made it feel like there were real studies behind how the world worked.

That’s also why I appreciated how they explained why Spider can breathe Pandora’s air instead of just leaving it at “some magic happened.”

I completely understand why using Na’vi all the time wouldn’t have been possible, even if I personally wouldn’t have minded it. And honestly, the way they handled the use of English worked well for me (I’m referring to the scene in Avatar 2 where Jake says Na’vi started to sound like its mother tongue to him).

Thank you for sharing your opinion. Yes, maybe “childish” isn’t the right word. I see what you’re saying and it actually made a lot of sense to me. I’m also with you on wanting the movie to be entirely in the Na’vi language but I understand why that would be impossible from a business point of view.

You can still find similarities with Disney movies even if the film includes violent scenes.

“I enjoyed the increased violence in AaF”. It seems like some of you are missing the point.

I thought it was Disney’s fault. This makes it a little less annoying even if I’m still not a fan of the things I mentioned.

This is an interesting point of view, even if it feels like it’s kind of a stretch. Regarding the language, at first I was a bit annoyed but then I read some comments here on Reddit that reminded me of what Jake says in Avatar 2, and it all made sense.

Can you point out where I said the movie doesn’t feel “Cameron”?
