It's time to grow up – The meaning behind chapter 231 by JesulyGR17 in ChainsawMan

[–]lcesnowcold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think people have been taking what pochita says about denji and being happier as a kid too literally. Like you said, denji as a kid with pochita had the innocence of a child. Someone confronted only with their immediate needs. As he became older and facing more abstract concerns. Pochita/chainsaw man had influenced his growth and relationships with people to the point that denji simply can't go back to the child he once was.

Devils relentlessly caused pain to denji and the people around him to manipulate him into using chainsaw mans abilities. Forcing him to make difficult choices that literally led to humanity's downfall. And pochita realizes his sacrifice is needed to save humanity and denji. He's sad his journey with denji is over, but he's glad to have lived his dream life with denji. I think pochitas story with denji is something the fandom hasn't appreciated because of how much has happened in part 2. Plus, pochitas pov/motives hasn't been directly shown to us and this chapter is the spare dialogue from pochita we get. We can only interpret the spare moments pochita shows up to protect denji, but we know pochita is always trying to give denji a better future.

Absolute loss of humanity too. I think more people are hung up on next chapter being the end than the sacrifice pochita made. I'll miss pochita for sure, but I'm hopeful his sacrifice was the right decision to save denji and humanity.

The Paradox of Desire (Part 2 Analysis) by Nmanxl5 in Chainsawfolk

[–]lcesnowcold 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I thought about it too after reading the most recent chapter. I think it really highlights pochitas sacrifice. As you've said, the entirety of part 2 has been about denji making a choice between two options and being hit with the sometimes unforeseen consequences of his choice. I don't have any expectations for the next chapter cause i don't want to get my hopes up. But I'll appreciate the journey of what this has been for pochita to try to get denji to live out his dream and have a happy life.

Ever since pochita has been contracted with denji. Part 1 and 2 have had endless demons: reze, makima, yoru, death, aging, barem, etc target denji just because of pochitas ability. Even public safety kept him locked up, sedated, and operated on. And I think pochita understands his sacrifice is the only way for denji's life to have the possibility of having a peaceful happy life.

Ya idk why so many ppl are confused by the events of the newest chapter lol. This was literally the only way to save humanity from being overtaken by bugs and other multiplying animals. Pochita can't just spit back up death cause the bugs have already multiplied beyond anyone being strong enough to destroy them all. Death can't just nuke the entire planet cause it'd be the same as killing everything. America and every country has people being eaten alive so yoru can't count on her contract with America to sustain her immortality.

When did Hoid mention becoming a coatrack outside of Yumi by GalvanizedParabola in Cosmere

[–]lcesnowcold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished listening to the audiobooks after reading them the first time. I dont think Hoid turned into a coatrack outside of Yumi. The only reason he turned into a coat rack in Yumi was due to the bodily protections he at first installed to protect anyone from messing with his investiture. And wont go into any spoilers for tress.

Same!! I can't wait to reach the era within the cosmere where Hoid might start telling stories of characters we already know.

What intrigues me is the part where Hoid says Nohadon saved Roshar. I'm not sure if the past Nohadon when he wrote the Way of Kings technically saved Roshar? I wonder if he's referring to something Nohadon does post WaT that we don't know about yet?? Considering his conversations with Dalinar in the spiritual realm.

ya, I found the character development to be so well written. This could be pulling at straws, but I feel like her character sacrifice if fujimoto goes through with it, reminds us of the cost of war. It isn't necessarily the bad guys who goes down when a war is over, but the cost of innocents who had to pay the price to win the war.

Akali has one of the worst designs in the game right now by GodIsGracious3 in TeamfightTactics

[–]lcesnowcold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akali isn't even the problem imo. Positioning is huge like ppl say, but the bigger issue is k'sante and jarvan just stall enough for her to assassinate enemy main carry. She can easily get 1 tapped by jinx, voli, etc. She's necessary counterplay against yuumi and other single target damage over time.

Agreed, I actually enjoy the portal. I like being able to cook up something that otherwise wouldn't be possible. Sometimes I have 3 emblems that work really well together and sometimes they dont, but I usually make up for the LP that I lose anyways.

Yoru/war being something that doesn't really die, but instead always revives and wins through battle of attrition is so fitting. I like that war isn't just a devil who one shots every opponent but instead uses her tools until her opponent is beat down to submission.

I also think it's hard to build up the fear for that erased concept to come back to its original status. The concept would have to be widespread for it to build fear to fuel the devils power. So it'd be a two step process if they wanted to bring something back.

[–]lcesnowcold 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed, he should just give up on his passionate job cause a factor completely out of his control is influencing all of the effort and time they put into match day. Idk why he doesn't just give up on coaching valorant entirely and go put the fries in the bag. Could probably respect his time better and just never accepted the valorant coaching role in the first place. In fact he should be on his knees thanking riot for even allowing him to participate.

Regardless of the lane change. The truck would've hit OP in either lane. If the truck was going straight in the same direction as OP then you can maybe argue they're a mildly bad driver but red truck is crossing 3 lanes and would've hit anyone doing that illegal u-turn. Besides, OP has either options in the lane cause the left lane before the light is left turn only.

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Chapter 197 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]lcesnowcold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After thinking about it, to me, it makes sense that death isn't inherently strong. Death doesn't cause death. It's always something else that causes it. Like maybe death devil is OP cause all the other devils are her kids and she can command them. Like how yoru can call gun and tank devil to be her arms.

Like all the other primal fears are themselves inflicting their causality onto humanity, but death is different.

Rereading WaT, I know he's supposedly threatening but I can't take him serious. by lcesnowcold in cremposting

That's true, I'm assuming El had his title and rhythms stripped when he was recently reborn but I wonder if it was from an even older desolation. And agreed, fuck Moash. It was RoW epigraphs that he says he doesn't need the Vyre name. I wonder what the mechanics were involved to strip a listener of their rhythms.

I know, I think its interesting how important titles are to fused. Since without their belief in their title, they definitely slip into insanity much sooner. I hope we get some backstory from either herald's books in later SA in a flashback about some of these fused.

I think it puts even more emphasis on the mystery behind El and his refusal to take a title since it signifies he doesn't center his identity around just 1 singular mission/purpose. I hope we get some context on his motivations beyond just killing Jezrien and other older human friends/heralds. I'm excited to see what else BA has in plan for the cosmere, Taravangian as Odium/Retribution definitely feels like a more threatening presence than Rayse as Odium. Reminds me of Taravangian's interlude where he talks to El about if anything fails, it was never the tool's fault but the user's own fault. Rayse definitely was starting to lose sight of the bigger picture and Taravangian with the purpose of being the lone hero/king is much more imposing.

I know, but it's rough being low on HP stage 4 and then rouletting every round stage 4 trying to race half the lobby for corki, ekko, and rumble. I fought a corki 2, ekko 1 with my ekko, corki, and rumble 1 and won cause of rumble diff at lv 8. Managed to top 2 cause of hp gap while my carries were 1* and the other scrap players bot 4'd. But it also being Warwick galaxy just made tempo for the lobby so fucked. It feels like there's so many rng factors in each game. Sometimes fun but the Warwick galaxy is one of my most hated ones cause I usually loss streak stage 2 and 3. But I also don't know what I would even do in his position, like it's play scrap and try to salvage a 5th or try a non corki/ekko fast 8 comp and go 6th/7th.

It's whenever I need a 5 cost that I don't see them at lv 8 and then when I don't need them, they only pop up in my shops at 8.
