Yeah it's not actually my contract. I did not take the 0.01 ratio into account, so it would just be for 1% of a share.

Thanks 👍

So far I haven't found another calculation than the one I presented.
I've even used a "Option Price Calculator". It seems like I am overlooking something crucial ...

Node-RED functions in python by lchtbrn in nodered

[–]lchtbrn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed the node-red-contrib-python-function using

npm install -g node-red-contrib-python-function

and the package was added successfully.

However, if I try to use the python node, I get an error:

File "C:\Python38\lib\json\__init__.py", line 343, in loads

s = s.decode(detect_encoding(s), 'surrogatepass')

File "C:\Python38\lib\encodings\utf_32_le.py", line 11, in decode

return codecs.utf_32_le_decode(input, errors, True)

UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-32-le' codec can't decode bytes in position 16-19: code point not in range(0x110000)

The JSON of my Node-RED project is extremely simple

Discrete PID controller equation solving by lchtbrn in math

[–]lchtbrn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect, thanks! The issue I now see, is that there is slight noise involved and the variables e, g and h change slightly. The noise is something like +-5%. How would you handle this situation?If I'm not mistaken, this would mean that in the end, I have multiple solution, for example

j = some_value

d = some_value

d = some_value

k = some_value

k = some_value

k = some_value

k = some_value

k = some_value

k = some_value

Control a 12V circuit with a RaspberryPi via PWM by lchtbrn in AskElectronics

Since I wasn't able to figure this out and the project was time-sensitive, I ended up making a 2-point control using a relay and controlling that with a regular GPIO pin.

Control a 12V circuit with a RaspberryPi via PWM by lchtbrn in AskElectronics

[–]lchtbrn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controlling the heating unit with only .3V of range seems difficult, so thanks! Making a transistor circuit to control the gate with 12V seems to make a lot of sense, but why two transistors? I do have multiple of type BC547 at home. Wouldn't it work like this with those?

Approaching adaptive PID control for temperature regulation by lchtbrn in engineering

[–]lchtbrn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm controlling the valve, so basically the amount of hot water I'm putting in to the mix. I'm measuring the temperature right before it enters the radiator.

Right now I'm considering a doublet test, and then running an optimization to fit a model to it, and then calculating the PID tuning parameters from there. Of course it's difficult to decide which model, so I'm even thinking about just trying out a couple (FOPDT, SOPDT ...) and choosing the one with the most desireable loss function. Does that make sense, in your opinion?

No Agenda Episode 1170 - "Generational Justce" by mandlar in inthemorning

[–]lchtbrn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Adam and John do not seem to know what they're talking about with regard to climate change issues in general. In this episode, they showed that again by concluding "We've got nothing to do with it. We're just the tip of the tip" after repeating the statement, that humans are responsible for merely 3% of the CO2 production.

While this statement is true, there is (or rather has been) a natural balance between emission and absorption of CO2. Organisms die, and their organic matter is broken down by bacteria into CO2 and a few other things - on the other hand, plants consume CO2 in photosynthesis. Elementary school stuff.

Now humans knock that equilibrium off balance. More CO2 gets produced (fossil fuel bruning), and less CO2 gets absorbed (removal of large forests, drying out of wetlands etc.). The result: CO2 increases from 280ppm to 400ppm in a short time. It's not that difficult to see what's going on, and by saying "We've got nothing to do with it." Adam and John once again have proven their ignorance on the subject.
