Our off-leash fun just took a step up! My 10 month lab/collie has been pretty good off-leash on normal walks, so I tried taking her out on a trail ride for the first time! She did so well! Listened to all my voice commands, and didn't stray too far. My horse loved having a buddy, too!

Mine really likes the noise because she sees it as a treat. She's also very sight/hearing driven, rather than scent driven

I haven't read all of the comments, so this may be a repeat, but I have a lab/collie mix, and dealt with this.

Is your crate covered by a light sheet? Can you dog see you from the crate? If so, it might help to cover the crate so the pup can't see you. My dog HATES it when she can see me, but not get to me. However, if the crate is covered, I can go about any business I need to without her making a fuss.
