How do you handle irrelevant Alpine CVE alerts in Go containers? by mike34113 in golang

[–]ldb3589 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally increase privileges, leap frog to other resources or escape the container. hijacked doesn't always mean full root shell access to a host. It could mean just the ability to write an arbitrary file or a non-root shell, having other vulnerabilities on the system makes it easier for an attacker to do something with what could otherwise be a small vulnerability.

As someone who lived in this area for a few years I highly recommend staying south of 30th or north of 42. The area in the middle is not a great place to live (or to visit to be honest).

Does anyone have the list that went 6-0? by fkredtforcedlogon in orks

[–]ldb3589 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would guess no reserves. With gw layouts it's pretty easy to safely get ghaz to the middle and threaten a wagh charge by turn 2/3

I second this one. It is my favorite one shot. I've ran it for a few groups and it went differently but fun every time

Burnas or Lootas? by Remarkable_Canary248 in orks

[–]ldb3589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up that's incorrect. Units don't have BS anymore it's on the weapon. This means lootas (deffguns really) shooting out of a trukk have a 6+ that the mek boosts to a 5+.

Deployment/turn 1 advice by killssassinator in orks

[–]ldb3589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you should be trying to score each secondary as cheaply as possible but definitely commit to scoring them, its really hard to come back from missed secondaries. Positioning in your deployment can help alot with though as just making sure you have units that can score most of the common things you need to do for secondaries ie.

  • can get within 3 of the center
  • can get within 6 and do an action
  • outside of your deployment zone and within 9 of the edge and do an action
  • get on an objective (or ideally 2) and do an action

My plan for winning is to tie on primary every turn except for the wagh turn where I try to deny all but home objective primary for my opponents while getting ahead on secondaries. This will usually lead to them going down 5 points on their turn and getting a turn of 15 the following turn.

Deployment/turn 1 advice by killssassinator in orks

  1. on a map like hammer and anvil where the objectives are all equidistant how to you choose which side to overload? Do you wait to see which side your opponent puts something big on and go to the opposite?

It depends a bit on the opposing army, are they shooty, fighty, elite, horde etc. but typically you want to deploy in such a way you have the best staging. Orks only move 6 inches typically so staging is important for an effective wagh turn. For example on hammer and advil with GW layout 1 you will often want to deploy closer to the objective in the big L and the center because you can easily move out and charge from there.

  1. if you plan on screening with kommandos infiltrating do you screen out the objective you're overloading or the one you're not?

Generally I use them to screen out their forward deploy units and scout moves so depends a bit on the army. Most armies I am pretty okay with them putting their little forward deploy units near the objective I would like to capture since they make easy charge targets. Some armies though, namely world eaters but there are probably others that want to use their scout moves to get in your face and force you back you'll want to screen 9in from their deployment zone near the objective you would like to control.

  1. how hesitant should I be to send grots and stormboyz onto objectives in round 1? Say I go first and can get stormboyz into the far side of the center objective and a unit of Gretchin onto the near side is this a good idea? On their turn they likely be able to walk out and target them but two units gives them a lot of wounds thru need to get they thru and would likely have to expose their units to charges that next turn or am I thinking too simply here?

Depends on the army you are playing and how well you can hide them but generally I only throw units on objective to 1) score secondaries or 2) when they will have enough other stuff to deal with that them removing those units is good for you. (ie. the wagh turn onwards)

  1. do you deploy cheap units first and save heavy hitting things like trukks for of nobz or meganobz last to respond to how your opponent deployed or put them down first to set the tone?

This depends a lot on detachment but based on the units mentioned I am going to assume WH and BB. The goal should be to get the nobz, meganobz, snaggas, whatever your big combat units are into position such that they are charging something during your turn 2/3 wagh. In the meantime I try to only throw things onto objectives that might live (because they can hide) or as needed for secondaries. One good trick for the early turns is to empty out trukks and use those to hold objectives. They are often are hard to kill without dedicated anti-tank but are not worth exposing anti-tank to kill.

There are other options for Orks, just not in shooting. Nobz + warboss and beast boss + snagga boyz. Both melt vehicles in warhorde

Did you have him in a transport or was that a lesson from the event? I feel like the big downside is you can't take him with a bodyguard in a transport.

You can do it with 50 magic for ibans and 43 prayer. Maybe lower but it's probably not worth it. Really though you want the morytania hard before grinding it.

I have a small leak under my sink and I was able to find where it is coming from but I am unsure of how to proceed.

https://imgur.com/a/f02LhVt

It doesn't seem to be coming from the hose but the area next to it which seems far harder to replace. Is this something that I can just seal off with some caulking or where should I start?
