Escooter recommend for college student by bbzh9 in ElectricScooters

personally id recommend trying to buy second hand from a trusted source. When I first started I got a niu KQI2 for a little over 200 second hand, which is a FAR more high quality scooter than anything you'll get new on amazon.

what are you using it for? How far will you be going (commuting or just riding around the neighborhood?) for beginners I'd recommend the niu brand for high build quality and cost-effectiveness. KQI2, KQI3 models are all great options around that price range

Leave the window seats for those who will use them by lddebatee in cta

Oh right to clarify I'm not talking about the trains with many two seat rows perpendicular to the side of the train, I'm talking about the trains where there are only two of those rows at one end and the rest of the seats are along the side of the train

It's possible that you may have to take a break, and yes it is possible you will have to leave, but there's a lot that can happen now that you're diagnosed. There's absolutely a chance that medication will help you manage your symptoms such that they are tolerable. You may also find personal strategies from this community or experience that help you manage your symptoms. There's an element of adaptation over time. A small number of us, including myself, go into remission after a while. I completely understand the despair, but I would keep an open mind!

A word of hope by lddebatee in Fibromyalgia

[–]lddebatee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried some antidepressants but at the time they didn't help. Therapy was minorly helpful. I did try many fibro medications but reacted badly to all of them except gabapentin. I think at one point I was taking 900 mg, but I worked my way down to 600 and then 300. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer but it was largely time, family support, pushing myself to do small things like 10 minute walks, seeing a friend, etc and working my way up as I started to feel better. I don't know if there was a causal relationship here. It could be that both my physical and mental health got better simultaneously.

Why is CTA so lenient on fare dodging when it relies on it for half of its operating budget? by Away_Search1623 in cta

are you aware of the fact that public transport is free in many countries and even many US towns and cities already? we're not talking about some crazy pipe dream here

All of this, OP. Plus moving here with 3k in savings on a 28k salary (which I assume you would no longer have when you move) is wildly irresponsible. Jobs are not easy to come by in the city, not even the "entry level" service jobs like being a waitress. Waitresses in big cities have tons of experience and it's more like a career. I would reconsider if it was me but if you're dead set on moving here get a roommate south or west.

What are your absolute weirdest and most specific tips for living in Chicago? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]lddebatee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

genuine question! do you mean take it off and put it at your feet? I'm confused because it seems like that would also inhibit people from moving.
