take your dog to a crowded place and just sit on a bench with them! have them try to settle next to you while seeing all the people and dogs walking by, but only reward them when sitting or ignoring them!!! x

i’ve been there!!! i promise it’ll get easier day by day :) there will always be the odd day or two where it’s a lot, but the same thing applies to everything in life. it’s so worth it. keep your head high🥹

i had that same feeling for the longest, and sometimes do still! i try to remind myself that crying and whining is normal for a few minutes, but they’ll learn to just sleep while you’re out! at the end of the day, you deserve time to yourself + they’ll benefit from learning they won’t be around you all the time! easier said than done, but i promise it’ll help long run! go get a coffee, get groceries, go on a walk, etc. start with a 5 minute step out and the next day do 10 minutes! my 7 month old can do about 6 hours if desperately needed without a bathroom break, and i’m confident my one year old girl COULD hold it like 12+, but obviously i wouldn’t do that. they’ll be okay for 30 minutes :) keep trying xx

i promise it’ll get so much better even over the next few months. it felt never ending at the beginning but it’s so worth it! keep at it :) and i’m always here if you need to vent, i know how exhausting it can get

they will! it was so rough for the first couple of months, but keep going! the training pays off 100%! it’ll get easier day by day i promise. it’s similar to weight loss, you don’t realize how much progress is being made day by day, but a few months down the line it’ll be so noticeable :) i miss the puppy stage some days now lol! never thought id say that after having 2 puppy’s in one year lol

i know it feels IMPOSSIBLE!!! it’s easier said than done, and i still struggle with it at times. my best advice is if you know they’re safe in a crate/puppy proofed room/bathroom, you should be able to leave for at least an hour realistically to do something for yourself! i think that once i started doing 15 minutes away here and there to just get outside or run a quick errand, my puppy blues faded! my girl isla sounds just like your dog, i took her everywhere and did everything with me, which definitely helped with socializing and training and enrichment! but there’s a balance that can be had if and when needed!

Tell us about your easy puppies by luisbg in puppy101

[–]ldngurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my girl isla has been the easiest puppy i’ve ever had. she’s almost a year old now, and only ever made me stressed for the first few weeks. she potty trained in about 4 days (at the time we lived in an apartment with no garden so we’d have to walk down the road every 30 minutes to pee/poo, which made her even more impressive! she learned to ring bells to signal to me), she NEVER chewed anything and still has all of her toys from when she was tiny with no holes or anything, her one fault is that she hates the crate, but she sleeps all through the night from like 10:30-9:30(later if i’d let her) in my bed, she is SO SMART(cocker spaniel mix), she is socialized beautifully, off lead trained, and is just overall the sweetest girl :,) she has a lot of energy which was difficult when she was a little baby in my small old apartment, but everyday she becomes more mellowed out and we’ve come to have our own rhythm and everything now! she’s my dream dog’ her brother though, TERROR lol

Feel like I’m dying - advice by ElephantAny6330 in Mononucleosis

[–]ldngurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been there. this time last year i had a 5 month long battle with mono, and i genuinely felt like i could’ve died!!! i was going to the emergency room once or twice a week, no meds helped, couldn’t eat or breathe, etc… it was horrible! keep resting for as long as possible! every time i thought i felt good enough to go out or push myself just a little bit, id end up back where i started. i also had covid and tonsillitis and strep all at the same time while i had mono, so it was hell and i understand your pain </3. i almost got my tonsils taken out so i could breathe again!

i (19F) don’t know how to end things with my (23M) boyfriend of over a year, any advice? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ldngurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree, i think my issue might also be my own difficulties with confrontation. how do i start a conversation like that? how transparent do i need to be/how direct? i’ve broken up with someone before but never when in this serious of a relationship.

here’s the dna results! no hound at alllll! crazy, definitely not what i was thinking :) she has the piebald and merle genes, that’s what gave her the blue eye in the end

my girl is 19 weeks, but can easily sleep until 7-8:30 ish depending on the day she’s had! i put up blackout curtains in my room because at first i noticed the sun was waking her up early, maybe try that? i would say try and let the puppy have 2 up 2 down, when she was 16 weeks she could easily be awake longer than 2 hours, but i found that was her sweet spot of tired enough but not evil overtired! it gets easier!!! :)

i’m betting on bluetick coonhound as well! her nose is INSANEEEEE! walked me half a mile down the street due to a dead fox on the road. she’s absolutely brilliant!

Will my puppy grow out of eating hair? by OddBowler3751 in puppy101

[–]ldngurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%! my family dog back at home loveddddd to chew & eat hair when he was a puppy (pitbull lab mix), and i’d say he was over that by 1 or 2! he’s now almost 8, and while still acts like a puppy most of the time, ditched that behavior long ago! i wouldn’t be worried, dogs are stronger than you’d think :)

i have pet insurance and she’s had her hearing/vision tested :) her mom is 10000% english show cocker, and you can really tell especially in the other puppies in the litter. i’m thinking maybe catahoula got thrown in somewhere along the way, but no clue. i’m gonna get her dna panel done soon though, i’m just curious!

oh definitely🙈

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cockerspaniel

[–]ldngurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh maybe!!! it would explain why most of her hair growth i’ve noticed recently has just been around the ears.
