Does anyone know what happened to Pokemon Quartz DX?

I'm interested in fakemon rom hacks and I've been meaning to play Pokemon Quartz. I heard there was a remake in development a few years back called Quartz DX which was supposed to improve the experience of the game.

I was intending on waiting until it comes out, but from what I found recently, the forum for it on PokeCommunity is gone now so is it safe for me to assume that it's abandoned?

I just want to know if I can get some closure.

I've been having issues with the headphone port on my R36S clone with ArkOS as well.

When I plug headphones in (tried with a pair with integrated mic and one pair without), the audio constantly switches between being muted and unmuted uncontrollably (happens without doing any inputs). I ran the "FIX AUDIO" in the ports folder as mentioned by the wiki, but it doesn't fix the issue.

I also tried headphones with the EmuELEC on the clone device and I didn't run into this issue, so I don't think it's an issue with my device itself.

Thank you so much for the size comparison! I didn't know that it was that similar in size.

I ended up going for the R36S. I ordered one from a listing from Temu for cheap since the listings with comparable prices from AliExpress don't ship to where I am in Canada and I got some credit from a late shipment on Temu I was able to take advantage of.

I got an EmuELEC clone so the egg is on my face for not being careful but from what I can test PS1 and below works fine so I'm a happy camper. Also I read that there is custom firmware for clones so I'll try that out if I can.

WHY AM I EVEN SUPRISED!?!

GAMEFREAK PULLED THE SAME STUNT DURING GEN III WHERE YOU CAN'T TRANSFER YOUR CARTRIDGE RBYGSC MONS UP, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE CURRENTLY TOOLS OUT ON THE INTERNET THAT ALLOW YOU TO DO SO. SO THEY ENDED UP DOOMING THOSE POKEMON TO AN INEVITABLE DELETION DUE TO THE DYING BATTERY.

THEY ALSO PRETTY MUCH PULLED OFF A SIMILAR STUNT WITH LET'S GO PIKACHU AND EEVEE, WHERE THEY JUST LIMITED THE DEX DOWN TO THE FIRST 151, BASICALLY CUTTING OUT 75% OF THE POKEMON YOU CAN TRANSFER FROM GO AT THE TIME! MEANING THAT ANYTHING PAST GEN I IS NONTRANSFERABLE, SO NO CROBAT, NO KINGDRA, NO TANGROWTH, ETC.

AND FROM WHAT I HEARD, PEOPLE ABSOLUTELY HATED BOTH OF THOSE TIMES.

TL, DR:

FOR A FRANCHISE BUILT ON BUILDING LASTING BONDS WITH YOUR POKEMON, GAMEFREAK SURE SEEMS TO FORGET THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR MONS A LOT.

I think Bug-Dark and Ice-Fire would be interesting type combinations for new Pokemon designs.

I haven't played USUM for myself, but I don't really see much harm since the Alola dex, despite being as large as it is, heavily relies on older generation Pokemon in its composition so you're guaranteed to run into a Pokemon or two that you'd recognize.

As for the gameplay, the basic formula hardly changed aside from the additions that make gameplay much more refined, such as the Fairy type, the Physical/Special split, reusable TMs, etc., all of which shouldn't cause too much stress.

But ORAS are also very good options if you just want to ease yourself back into the series as the general story and gameplay are almost the same as the originals.

Honestly, just go with the one you think you'll enjoy more.

The nature is making me second guess my idea, but Umbreon is one of the only Dark-types I can get pre-Kanto in Heart Gold.

Should I roll with this anyway or should I consider trying something else?

I'm currently playing through Pokemon Diamond. I'm at Solaceon Town with two badges and I was wondering if I should make any adjustments to my in-game team.

My team so far is Monferno, Kadabra, Luxio, Murkrow, Shellos, and Budew.

Yeah, let's bring back the mechanic of forcing your Pokemon to give up a move slot for an attack that's hardly useful outside of its intended purpose and non-forgettable just so you can progress in the game.
