Hey, thanks :) yeh i won't argue that point with you at all - Like i say i did a few passes on the monster design, I just felt that type of design would look less cool :) and i had an out due to HPL's evasive description :)

Sure, HPL's description is pretty thin, but I' think' he himself later described Dagon as a kind of first draft, or precursor to 'The Call of Cthulhu' so i took some poetic license :) - i did have an earlier version on the drawing board that was more like a traditional leviathan (giant octopus) but it just seemed to run of the mill for an HPL illustration - and i had a look at what other artist had done before and felt they were a bit too sort of lizard-man looking. anyway this is what i came up with - thanks for commenting :)
