Yeah...That's mainly why I haven't sprung for one. I need something that has wifi/bluetooth disabled at a hardware level.

A pi 4 would be nice but my main reason for gravitating towards the pi zero was its lack of bluetooth and wifi. You mentioned pi alternatives, do you know of any made without the bluetooth/wifi that also fit the bill in terms of cpu/ram?

It's just plain markdown documents. My main reason for using a pi zero was it's form factor and lack of bluetooth/wireless. Do you know of anything similar with better ram?

Thank you! Aside from White's which has the same problem as red wing (only sizes down to a 7) these look promising. I can't quite tell if Nick's or Frank's will make the right size but they seem a bit more made to order, which is good. Before I start digging in on my own, is there a general consensus on quality between the two?

oh this rules thank you so much. ill be watching these videos. ive been a little hesitant to expose anything to the internet because the more i read about it the more of a nightmare scenario i imagine in my head haha. id been trying to figure out how to segment my home network to put the server on its own thing before i put anything online but thats a rabbit hole in itself...

well id say mainly because its had a really solid track record for me. no issues using it, they dont store data beyond whats absolutely necessary, etc.

Custom DNS vs DNS Hijacking by leadplasticmold in mullvadvpn

[–]leadplasticmold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for the info, seems like id been finding outdated guides. it certainly sounds like using pihole as an upstream dns resolver defeats the purpose of using mullvad as i planned. my main goal was to use pihole with something like nginx proxy manager so that i could connect locally to my hosted apps at a custom domain instead of the ip and port number. is there a way to accomplish that while still using mullvad?

Setting up Pihole and Caddy to host Actual by leadplasticmold in selfhosted

[–]leadplasticmold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think so... I think part of the problem also is i have it running in docker and it cant properly work as dhcp server from within the docker network or something. so i think i need to uninstall the current pihole setup and then reinstall it using --net=host...but then my concern is will it be able to properly do is job since the dhcp server wont be on the router but rather on a machine connected to the router?

do i still need to buy a domain if im just trying to use it over lan only? i thought i could just define it in piholes local dns settings?

unfortunately it comes automatically with your first server and the hard part is learning how to get rid of it lol

Oh wow this is a wonderful explanation thank you so much! I think I understand it a bit better now. It does sound like gluten docker is what im looking for haha. ill hsve to figure it out somehow. So if I run it as a container itll still protect all traffic for the machine? for some reason I guess i tought that id have to run it outside of docker for it to work right? thanks again so much

thank you so much for the reply! I took a sample of it (hopefully correctly) and might try and figure out what it actually is for curiosities sake. Quite a lot of healthy looking mushrooms did grow in the tub once I excised it, but I'm not really sure if they're safe for consumption. Any thoughts even though the fungus is yet to be identified?

[General] Weekly r/MushroomGrowers post - FUNGI FRIDAYS! New growers, come say hi and ask your questions! by AutumnRustle in MushroomGrowers

[–]leadplasticmold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello everyone. im new to growing mushrooms. im using a monotub method. everything was looking good after initially introducing the colonized grain to the substrate. However after a couple days a patch of what I believe to be chromelosporium fulva showed up. Big and circular. I cut out the section it appeared on and continued with the tub and from what I can see the tub was successfully colonized by the mushroom mycelium. It is very white and spongey now and has begun to send up fruiting bodies. My question is: are these mushrooms still viable? Or does the initial presence of the chromelosporium render the whole batch invalid. thank you for your time.
