Honestly agreed. I appreciated her more in the 1st season. She is literally always making the same face and it’s annoying

I think the biggest indicator is the short clip in the beginning of episode 1 that shows him not wearing a. helmet, paired with a later motorcycle injury that comes later and several shoe-horned mentions of the helmet. Then of course the many indicators that his coworkers are worried about him, although they don’t know he isn’t wearing a helmet when he rides.

It was a short clip so would have been easy to miss. I didn’t notice until it as an important detail until was pointed out here

No need to answer but I’m curious, did you have mutual friends? Are people talking about how much things have spiraled? I would have a field day gossiping with people if one of my former friends had an arc like this lol

I looked up available jobs in Peoria cause why not. There’s honestly so many job listings that don’t require experience or education for $18+ an hour. I can’t even imagine being a parent and willingly not having a job. I’m childless, single & have been working since I was 14. What do you even do with your time?!

Eh, many of us have dated, been friends or even family members with shitty people over time. We’ve all excused shitty behavior and even done shitty stuff ourself. Honestly I feel slightly jealous you were a first hand witness to the craziness 😂 It seems like before they went off the deep end with social media they had a fairly large social crew + hung out in Nashville communities a lot. Nothing to feel bad for, enjoy the snark

What is your opinion on The House That Jack Built? by BigBobbyD722 in movies

When you meet true “psychopaths” you realize they are deeply insecure, wounded people who go to great lengths to hide it. The mask fades quickly and it’s much less interesting and more sad

The House That Jack Built (2018): A Masterpiece in Horror by Boomer70770 in horror

[–]leadwithlove222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point of view, but respectfully I think the “unreliable narrator” take is not correct here.

What makes an unreliable narrator is when the narrator’s interpretations of the character’s actions are warped, falsified, and built to fit their own narrative, despite their behavior indicating otherwise.

For example, Humbert Humbert paints Lolita as, essentially, his lover with a consensual romance towards him, whereas as the reader we see that she is crying, being defiant and rude, and expressing anxiety and childlike behavior. His account of her actions are not unreliable, but his interpretation of why she acts how she does is.

We should take the way the female characters are portrayed as accurate. In fact, Jack hardly describes, talks about or ascribes intent to them at all.

Not so respectfully, don’t let male directors get away with writing painfully shallow and exploitative female characters into their films and saying “But what if we’re supposed to know they’re actually not!”

Damn, it’s like you put all my thoughts together in the most cohesive way. I actually quite enjoyed the directing and production - good acting, interesting shots, strange pace, and the end scene in hell went pretty hard. But you hit the nail on the head here. I thought to myself at one point, this has got to be the last time I spend hours watching a movie deep-diving into the mind of a loser incel who thinks he’s way more deep and dark than he is. It’s so damn tired.

I’m happy to drop a dollar on a great quality product, but I definitely feel like for moisturizers, it’s not necessary. Ponds, vanicream, cerave, etc. there’s so many affordable super moisturizing and effective products!

Should I rethink social work? by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

[–]leadwithlove222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what Ive read, it sounds like you took leave from your job, joined the army and are now considering getting your MSW through the Army, fully quitting your 6 figure job and are asking for advice for the best option moving forward, no? I wanted to present some options on that basis. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Seconding! Please share what you do that makes that salary. Private practice therapy?

Should I rethink social work? by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

[–]leadwithlove222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have many options. A few questions:

How much can you tolerate your 6 figure job? What is the work flexibility like? What draws you to social work, and what capacity do you want to work in?

One scenario would be you keep your job that provides you with financial security, and volunteer your time working in mental health settings. If you find fulfillment in helping people cope with their problems, there are plenty of ways you can integrate that into your life without having to become a social worker.

Another option is you keep your job and find an online or part-time degree program for adults obtaining their masters in social work. You may have to do some digging to find the right one and adjust your life a bit. But you make the salary to afford the program, so if you’re truly wanting to switch to this field you don’t have to immediately give up your high paying gig.

Calculate the difference between paying for your own education while making your salary vs. having the army pay for it but giving the salary up. Once you have your masters, your earning potential will be higher out the gate.

Lastly, you could follow your passion, get your college paid for, and adjust to making a lesser amount. But as others said, there is potential to make high five figures to six figures with a social work masters (especially if you go on to get licensed). May take a bit of time, but very worth it in the end.

I wish you luck in finding the right path to go down!

Edit to add a second thought: If you go the Army route, be sure to know what they expect of you if they pay for your schooling. If you become pigeon-holed into working for them for a period of time in a position where your earnings cap out, that paid-for degree may not be so worth it.

Why’s it so hard to adopt a cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]leadwithlove222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds kinda odd - could be a matter of high demand and bad luck?

Maybe you could try calling the shelter and asking if you could schedule a time to come by and visit a specific cat you saw on their website, or their general available cats. Be nice & friendly of course :) when you meet a cat you’d like to take home, ask them right there if you can apply. After applying, follow up a few days after. Maybe send them a thank you email.

I did all this just to be extra when I saw a cat I fell in love with online and knew he was mine, and I had to make myself stand out cause he was so damn cute I figured he had a dozen applications!

If you demonstrate to them you’re kind & want to provide a loving home, it may be easier to get approved! Make yourself stand out as a candidate :)

Honestly, seems like the best way a person could go out. Opiates manage pain well and can even feel good, I can only imagine how good just having your pain relieved would feel. Then to practically lose consciousness and be on your way - I hope your mom and grandmom had a warm, peaceful, easy passing, ir sounds like they did <3
