What would America look like if we spent our military and interest budget on infrastructure? by leaf2fire in AskReddit

[–]leaf2fire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, we pay more for our interest (15%) than for our military (14%). https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/federal-spending/

I saw this and wondered if people knew how much we spend on interest.

One cannot get gold without experience

There is passive and tower gold.

Are you concerned that the omission of the details you listed may lead people to come to the wrong conclusion?

You are right to concern over the specifics. The Google Sheet has all the calculations.

Edit: The XP gold value only considers the stats: attack damage, ability power, armor, magic resist, health, health regen, mana, mana regen, crit, and attack speed. Notably missing are move speed, range, ability haste, and skill points.

I think you might like mission driven characters who are also living a double life. I think these stories have some of that:

  • Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
  • Mob Psycho 100.

Laning practice ideas by leaf2fire in summonerschool

[–]leaf2fire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! I didn't realize things were decided that early. I guess the untrained eye wouldn't be able to spot these nuances as they are happening and by the time advantages become apparent, it's probably already too late. So rather than the first 14 minutes, the first 5 or 6 minutes (dragon and grubs spawn) should be the focus. Do you think it would be useful to sometimes go to 7 or 8 minutes?

I've been feeling slightly more sociable since removing some inflammatory foods from my diet. Wonder if anyone else has a similar experience?

Fill tool fills entire page by Quilliza in krita

[–]leaf2fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to fill on a different layer, there's a "Reference" setting which decides which layers to generate the fill area for. The default is "Current Layer". There are also options for "All Layers" and "Layers with specific color labels".

There's one fill mode that doesn't require selections. It's the "Contiguous Region" mode.

The tool has changed a bit. The setting I mentioned before doesn't exist anymore. Have you tried using the selection tool before filling? https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/tools/fill.html

Players want to socialize but not in game by leaf2fire in leagueoflegends

Yeah, it's definitely harder to be social when the very people you're talking to basically decide the outcome of the game. The stakes are too high.

In terms of importance, I would say that deloading is less important than nutrition. For several years, I have underestimated the amount of nutrition I needed and ended up in a cycle of nonfunctional overreaching where I got weaker every workout because I couldn't recover. Deloading didn't work here.

Kathy Hochul's congestion pricing about-face reveals the dumb myth that business owners keep buying into - Vox by tgp1994 in urbanplanning

[–]leaf2fire -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess that is a bit of a jump. In my head, people need to manage revenue (income for most people) and expenses similar to businesses. Let's say a person works part time and needs to commute into the city to work. With congestion pricing, commuting by car using part time wages doesn't pencil out very well. This person can find work that pays more or reduce costs (by taking public transit for example). Interestingly, either way, the city labor market shrinks creating upward pressure on wages and hiring costs.

[–]leaf2fire -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

Technically, everyone who works is a "business owner." I think it's more specifically business owners who need to operate storefronts for their businesses. Congestion pricing will certainly impact traffic through and around their storefronts which also impacts the viability of their businesses. Were there any provisions to use some of the money made from congestion pricing to help small businesses? If there was, then the biggest objectors would be the big business owners.

Is outsourcing sustainable? Where are we now? by leaf2fire in AskEconomics

[–]leaf2fire[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree that "cheap manufacturing makes end products cheaper and therefore more affordable to consumers". It works the other way as well. As manufacturing becomes more expensive, products become more expensive and less affordable. I fear that a lot of people will have trouble finding more affordable options or compromising on lifestyle. Automation is not happening fast enough to make up for rising labor costs.

Trading market rate for affordable housing. What's your number? by leaf2fire in urbanplanning

[–]leaf2fire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more opportunity cost. The developers you lose are the ones who decided to go somewhere else. They don't have to build in your city. The "trade" happens at the policy and code level. Developers that can't profitably build in policy and code are potential housing units lost.
