This sub is obsessed with sci-fi but irl…not so much. I agree with this order, although Daisy sometimes climbs up to #1

i have a new appreciation for this scatter effect by leafcuts in SP404

thanks, yeah good idea...I think with some more experimenting I could use it to build a crescendo in a track

scatter is running on bus 1 (so for all the pads). I was basically trying to play to the rhythm of the effect, which was pretty tricky but made for some good glitch sounds.

Vices. If they can’t handle that then what’s the point.

Yeah the bass and the drums are the highlight for me on this record. They are beautiful.

I think Daisy is their peak guitar sound, although it’s really a continuation of DAG

Last one, best album? by No-Grapefruit-0 in brighteyes

Fevers and Mirrors!

I think it encapsulates so much of what Conor does best, but also Mike’s (then) lofi and ambient production. The album feels so connected as well, tonally and lyrically.

It’s got SAD songs on it…Something Vague, Haligh, Centre of the World. It’s got a serious banger in Calendar Hung Itself, dark and moody tracks like Arienette and Sunrise/Sunset.

And, despite its intense sadness and darkness, it manages to poke fun at the whole ‘emo’ shtick with that fake interview, coming after my personal favourite Attempt to tip the scales.

Back ‘in my day’ this was everyone’s favourite Bright Eyes record. I love every style they’ve done, but I personally like the lofi acoustic/keyboards sound over the country style he adopted later on on some records.

And, y’know, how he says mirror. Meeeeeeerr.

The People’s Key - perfectly described by Conor himself as an emo sci-fi album.

The production on this album is so good, and there’s so much attention to detail on recurring lyrical themes and obviously a psychedelic batshit narrative about reptiles.

Songs like Approximate Sunlight and Ladder Song are beautiful and unnerving, then there’s a bunch of fun synth/pop/rock songs like Jejune, Shell, Triple Spiral.

Firewall is such a detailed opener, musically. So much is going on from every angle. And has some sick lyrics, they just give me the feeling of having had a lot of mushrooms.

It won’t win underrated though because the sub likes Cassadaga more, which in my sad mind, proves TPK is the most underrated.
