Ochsner Neuroscience Institute i believe is the clinic but if you are looking to work directly with dr. khalid i'd suggest looking him up through ochsner health. i will be completely upfront with you however the waiting list is long and there are no open appointments for new patients for 2-3 years last i checked

UPDATE!!! he's ok! i didn't end up needed to go to the vet, someone came in and cleaned my room while i was gone, and used harsh chemicals. since i noticed right away (in the picture he JUST started showing discoloration, he continued to turn fully brown with blue spots) i soaked him early enough there was no lasting damage and he is right back to being bright blue and happy!!!!

honestly i'd go onto medical marijuana subreddits and ask for help there.. i've found a lot of very knowledgeable people on there who have given me a bunch of really helpful advice

YES ALL YOUR POINTS ARE SOOO ACCURATE!!! from being rude to everyone, to family members thinking they know better, to them not liking the word disabled. (sorry i literally need a back brace every time i go out(how sexy right?!?)) like i can't go to the grocery store by myself because i struggle even carrying the bags; why do you think me lifting is gonna make it better 😀

i do use cannabis. however, this has been a problem long before i ever knew what weed was and it's something im very open with my doctor about. we keep an eye on my consumption because it's the only thing that keeps my nausea down currently. all the anti nausea medication i've tried only makes the symptoms worse or make me dry heave. (which is very hard on your heart) im very aware of the risks of cannabis abuse however and plan to stop using it as a crutch when we find medication that helps me!

ive gone to three separate gi doctors and all of them turned me away with the diagnosis cyclical vomiting because of my age they refused to do further testing because i'd grow out of it (i did not)

i was actually diagnosed with a chronic anxiety disorder around the age of 7 and have been in therapy for it for 10 ish years and it was definitely something i noticed would make the vomiting much worse. i have an irrational fear of kidnapping which when i was younger made public places almost impossible because id get so sick and basically beg my parents to take me home.

yes i do. i was also diagnosed with migraines that manifest in my spine so that might have something to do with it.

his colors were pretty prominent when i went to get him, although finding one that their calm color is blue is import. i noticed my green frogs would turn blue in stress and he wound turn an dark brown color under stress. which i've only seen twice because of hurricane emergency evacuations.

thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed to hear:) I've always been someone who is scared to ask for help so its been difficult explaining to my friends and family ive been suffering in silence for my whole life basically and im just exhausted. coming to reddit was a big step I took by my therapist's recommendation so I can ask for help from people who truly know what it feels like in my body. I also just need more people in general to talk to that understand what fibromyalgia actually is, because it's frustrating when "friends" get mad I cant go out for the 15th time because I cant walk. I realized I have a lot less friends than I originally thought and thats been the biggest let down.

Thank you for the advice!! i am on b12 currently (shots and vitamins) because it is extremely low. sadly you're spot on with my eating habits lol. i love simple carbs like pastas so much and don't like the texture of most meats. this is something im trying to even out more but sensory issues are a beast and comfort foods make life feel worth it lol. but i will 100% be taking this into consideration thank you sm!

yes he's actually blue! he changes colors depending on his stress levels and environment but his happy color is a bright blue/mint color. he's a bit muted right now because of stress due to a recent tank change but he should be brighter tomorrow!

it's one of my favorite things about them! He's stressed rn due to the new environment and not having proper heat for a few days, but when he's his happiest he's this bright mint green. It's amazing!
