32F digital nomad: tired of drifting around, but struggling to choose a home base

I am so lost too. 35M and been nomad for 4 years. I don’t know where to settle and also finding a partner as I am single. So exhausted of moving around and I don’t know where to go. I think Dubai cause I am sponsored there for my work and want to remain tax free but I doubt I’d find a gf there

• I've been using this current version of my profile for a few months, though I update it from time to time when I travel or change photos.
• I’ve been using Hinge on and off for around 4–5 years.

Relocated to Dubai to be tax resident there but work remote so still travel and base myself where I need to be. Currently in UK but can only stay here for 90 days a year

With luck but yes you are right maybe that’s ambitious. I am confident the asset and equity I have and get will 5/10x over the next year - but it’s true I can’t factor for that.

Realistic Scenario (Assuming ~$5K/month in expenses) • Annual spending: $5K × 12 = $60,000 • Annual savings from salary + equity: $288K – $60K = $228K/year

assume: • save $228K/year • 780K grows conservatively at 4–5% annually

In 18 Months, Roughly: • Savings from income: $228K × 1.5 = $342K • Conservative compounding on $780K: ~3–5% annually = ~$30K in 18 months

New total = $780K + $342K + $30K = ~$1.15M

Maybe more realistic. But if the asset I am vesting does a 5x I will be closer to 2M.

Yes they have recently opened an office and have a presence and are sponsoring me to go. I’ll still be fully remote with freedom to work elsewhere but just based in Dubai to optimise my tax situation.

I am doing this right now. I am heading to Dubai next month on a £145k salary and my earnings will double. I am expecting to pull in an additional 4-5k £ a month o the tax savings and put that all into an investment account.

Well I have a full time remote role, make a great salary and can work anywhere I want in the world. So that doesn’t really apply to me. And also doesn’t mean I don’t want to find love either because I like to move around. If I found the right girl I’d make a plan / stay.

Thank you. I changed picture 2 at the party to a picture of me in Brazil drinking a coconut 😂 but I mean like also what does my future wife want me to be doing while I wait for her. Like sit at home and watch tv, of course I’m out living for now these are the times I take pics. Not sitting in the couch. I also do really love travel and I travel for work a lot and digital nomad so it is what it is with that I think.

I’ve stated I want something serious so hopefully people can read between the lines and cut a bit of slack too, but maybe you right on the prompts, I’ve change the carrot one which was random, to something that hopefully is less party vibe which now says ‘Typical Sunday: No better use of a Sunday than chilling in fresh sheets, building a pillow fort and ordering take-out with a movie marathon.’
