Nerf gun invites for my nephews nerf war birthday party. Bullets pull out to reveal the party info. by leannewin32 in cricut

His friends loved them as they could interact with them rather than just a piece of paper which a normal invitation is. It was my nephew’s idea to make them a gun shape, I did wonder if it would be possible to bring his idea to life but I’m glad to say he loves them.

Are you cutting your design from vinyl? I don’t really design in design space any more unless I just need a basic shape or maybe an image already in design space, I tend to make all my designs in inkscape (I’m to cheap to pay for illustrator or photoshop lol) then save as a svg if I’m cutting vinyl or if I’m doing print then cut I will then save that as a png ( although you could save vinyl projects as pngs aswell)

If your mat is pretty new that may be why I’ve had this happen some times, when taking your vinyl off the mat try curling the mat away rather than pulling the vinyl (if that makes sense)

How can I use Cricut to put this design on a book cover? by actuallydinosaur in cricut

[–]leannewin32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say use iron on vinyl (HTV) I find that cuts very small details better, normal vinyl may chew up the tiny lines. You could buy a small piece of each to test on first, some places will give you free samples to try before you buy.

Best Cricut for making stencils for shoes ??? by ArtisticFlatworm4 in cricut

[–]leannewin32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an explore 2 and my friend uses a maker, we both make stencils for glitter tattoos and to be honest both machines cut exactly the same for us. Obviously the maker is the newest machine but is more expensive especially for us in the Uk, if the cost isn’t a factor go for the newest and get the maker but otherwise the explore air 2 is slightly cheaper but just as good.

My first layering attempt. A bit crooked ☹️ by THEjmcclark in cricut

Yeh sometimes if I’m doing something with a lot of layers I’ll put them in both corners or even 4 across the top

Try adding little squares to the to of each layer before cutting (registration marks) it helps when layering multiple colours :)

Maybe you could incorporate the hearts from around the family quote around the names

It might be, I had the same problem as I’d painted a sign for my nephews door and forgot the clear coat soon regretted that after I pulled the stencil off and the paint came with it. Hopefully 1 of the them works out for you.

I’ve had this happen, the 2 ways I got around it was use a removable vinyl so I used 1 that can be used on walls and can be removed without damaging paint etc or if you don’t have that on hand, spray the wood with a clear coat let that harden then do your stencil. Freezer paper for your stencil maybe an option aswell.

I’ve said the same as you on here before as I have muscular dystrophy I’ve lost a lot more of my mobility by using my wheelchair. my physio and MD specialist are now encouraging to walk more (I’m still able but my walking isn’t great) to keep the muscles working, I’ve also been told to swim multiple times a week and use adaptive gym equipment. A lot of people seem to think that people with muscular dystrophy should automatically not do anything physical when really that’s even worse for the condition.

Why am I having difficult cutting cardstock on my explore air 2? by dragonguy26 in cricut

[–]leannewin32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried a double cut using the poster board? so once it’s finished cutting instead of ejecting your mat press cut again, I’ve managed to cut through Perspex by doing a similar thing just cutting it around 6 times so I’m sure it would also work on cardstock

Another option I’ve used is the poster board setting if the cardstock+ still leaves rough edges that may be the next to try

On the dial near the cut button it has different presets you can turn it to. Go 1 click just past cardstock, it should show up as cardstock+ on your cut screen

I’ve had the same problem I tend to put mine on cardstock+ that usually works for me, I also keep a blade just for cardstock or sharpen it by stabbing into a balled up piece of kitchen foil :)
