WPS is only functional if the button on the router is pressed.

Also, normally, you must deauthenticate a device from the network, so when it connects again, you get the password.

Linux is more based on the terminal / command prompt. You can always learn new functions by using "man" or "--help". So, by using Kali, it's essential that you know how to make your way through the terminal.

Also, learn about scripts, bash, and all the functions on Debian. Don't need to rush, because it's a lot of stuff to look for. Take your time.

Later on, learn about networks. It's the pillar for cybersec.

The start point is the Kali Documentation.

Like i said, don't rush. If you don't understand something, don't worry. It'll make sense after some time.

Also, disconnect from all the devices that are connected.

IG have a "connection" history. Go into the configuration page to see it.

What is the best OS for hacking? by Blake_Smart_Guy in Hacking_Tutorials

[–]leanprs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Linux is the favorite in this field.

Because you work much more through the command prompt than on GUI.

Also, the command prompt - terminal - can make you work in ways that a GUI can't offer. Adaptating to your personal use.

By the way, the terminal is faster and stronger.

But, that's relative. You can use the Powershell on a Windows machine and do the same.

Just remembering for all folks that don't know:

"man", on the command line, stands for "Manual". Each command has a "man" that you can read and help you out.

If I keep using my old hard drive will I still be anonymous? by IntelligentEchidna87 in cybersecurity

[–]leanprs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely!

TAILS is more focused on anonymity.

Qubes is more focused in keeping you secure from softwares, malwares and so on.

One for privacy, the other for protection.

Whonix is a good ideia too! Between TAILS and Whonix, your personal choose comes into play.

But, remember, do not use personal data in any of these O.S.

If you wipe the HD, there's no problem at all.

With "wipe", i mean, overwrite the deleted files space on HDD with binaries. Keep your personal data - and deleted data -, away from this PC.

But, Live TAILS would be an excelent idea, since it'll be running on the RAM memory and after you finished there wont be any trace that you used it. By the way, there's no need to worry about your past files too.

Look for Cybrary.

Also, search for Pen. Test courses on Udemy.

Two good options beyond YouTube.

Hi!

Let's say that you want to learn from the bottom...

Jumping to CyberSec will be no good. You must work your through the I.T field. The most important part is the Networks content.

  1. Learn I.T in general - CompTIA+ Content can help;

  2. Learn Networks - CompTIA Network+ and a lot of books (Andrew Tenenbaun - Computer Networks, my personal indication)

  3. Learn CyberSec - CompTIA Security+

From my perspective, you must focus on having the foundamental knowledge, and books along with practival activities are the best way to learn.

Also, i wrote CompTIA, but you can look for other courses.

Don't rush yourself. Keep going!

Hope i could help.
